Cheap air filter
I thought I would share this. If you are not looking for originality and want to put an air filter on your T, look up..."BLACK FOAM INTAKE AIR FILTER ATV QUAD DIRT BIKE PIT BIKE 38MM BOOT on Ebay. They are only $6 plus $3 for shipping. I had to notch the clamp/rubber sleeve where the choke rod sticks out from the carb. I then re-curved the choke lever that hooks up to the pull choke rod to and, voila! Always wanted to put an air cleaner on, but thought the price was a little steep. Hope this helps you guys.

Re: Cheap air filter
Mine is more expensive. About twenty bucks at O'Reilly.
It's mounted on a piece of sink drain pipe.

Re: Cheap air filter
Not too shabby, but the one I have referred you guys to is a smaller profile and no need for a pipe. I have mine angled towards the hogshead. I should mention I have a Kingston carb on mine and it fits nice. I don't know if all carb openings are the same dimension.

Re: Cheap air filter
The openings should be all be about the same. The hot air pipe only comes in one size fits all.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Yep, that's it. Slips OVER the O.D. of the carb opening. That is why I had to modify with a notch and recurve the choke lever. I have no way to post a pic of mine, but I think you guys get the general idea and will like it....especially the price! Almost looks like it was made for this application. Thank you for posting the Ebay listing.

Re: Cheap air filter
I’m curious if these filters impart a slight choking effect on the carburetors. No matter how free flowing the air is, it’s not the same as no filter. Anyone do a test to inspect the plugs with and without the filter? Or is the needle adjustment changed a little to compensate for a slightly richer mixture?

Re: Cheap air filter
Is gas and oil soaked foam that close to the exhaust manifold a good thing? Bud. I think the Jelf mod looks better but i would not use one. Bud.
