At $125 for the bell housing I will take time and repair them.
Face plate made for boring & machining once I silver solder in an incert. Think that will work?

I do these all the time. I braze them up and rebore them. Most of the time the brass is all gone when they are bored out due to shrinkage as they cool. Dozens of repaired ones out in the road.

Another way would be to step bore them and press a ductile iron insert into the bore from the inside.
