I’m back - well almost

Post by NHUSA » Wed Jan 15, 2020 11:53 am

:D you can ignore this post if you want. :D
I have been stupid busy with little spare time

I am on a flight with in flight wireless internet so I have a bit of time to catch-up and say hello.
I am being forced to fly from New Hampshire to Florida in mid January to give a talk at the Space Coast chapter of SMTA.
My son wanted to meet me so he could give me a personal tour of Kennedy but he couldn’t get away from Washington DC this week.

Next week I go to Kansas City to help set up a vacuum reflow oven at a highly secure facility and 2 weeks later I will be in San Diego at a trade show. I WILL take a bit of time to visit the Midway again.

The T and A are in the garage keeping the snowblower and generator company and the trailer is under a pile of snow.
I almost got the T out on Christmas Day but my wife talked me out of it by offering me a glass of wine 🍷
Speaking of Christmas - she got me a planer for my shop. It is still in the box but I have plans drawn up for a stand.

All most forgot. I turned 75 about a week ago and can’t remember why I started this thread.

You sound pretty busy for a fellow that should be enjoying retirement. You need some T time!

Maybe this IS retirement for Fred (?). The longest-lived people I have
ever known never really stopped "going". Our neighbor Mr. Moore was
forced to retire from Weyerhaueser when they shut down their steam
locomotive fleet. He was 75. He went back to logging and one occasionally
saw him 100 feet up, topping a big Doug Fir. He lived to be 105 and died
in his sleep. A life well-lived, right to the end. You go, Fred ! 🚀
More people are doing it today than ever before !

Nice guy you are....
leaving town with the snow coming down, and leaving the Mrs. with the snowblower!

No more gifts of wine for you Fred! (Peanut Butter and jelly instead!)

Cheers,

Dave

Dave

Snow is not an issue.
She has a telephone and knows how to use it to call the plow guy.

She also has a checkbook and knows how to use it.

I just saw this thread while relaxing after another busy day, this time at home.

The pandemic has me working from home and I am twice as busy doing webinars, talking with customers, and helping with a project to design an new - updated piece of equipment, and attending on-line meetings.

The commute is brutal - I almost tripped over the cat as I went from the bedroom to my home office.

My wife and I shop “old folks” hours at BJs Walmart, and the grocery store.
We also “drunk” order things from Amazon in the evening with delivery in just a few days.
Although it is currently cool in New Hampshire my wife wanted me to have AC in my office and we got an Air conditioner on-line that was delivered in two days for $50 less than the local box box store. (Same model etc.).

I made a trip to the garage (about 10 ft from the kitchen door) last weekend and talked to the Model T and A .
They reported that they are both doing great but miss me and are looking forward to a few trips this summer.
The T was kidding the A because it received a Best of Show last summer at the A has only received a first place trophy.
The A was saying that she belonged to her, not him, therefor she was more important in the family.
I told them that we loved them equally and they just laughed.

Next weekend I’ll travel to the basement and reintroduce myself to the workbench, radial arm saw, compound shop saw, table saw, etc. I hope they remember me.
