Where To Get A Transmission Rebuilt Near VA

Post by Mopar_man » Wed Feb 05, 2020 9:26 pm

My apologies because I think I asked about this before but it was a few years ago. I need to get my transmission rebuilt. I am gathering the parts from Bob's. He still has to make some more pins before I get my parts. I live in VA and I'm looking for a shop. Who do you guys recommend? My post Getting Rattles back on the road is where you can see what I'm dealing with. If I have to ship it How have you all done that? Shipping vendor recommendation? Thanks in advance.

I spent a lot of money to get my rebuilt after the Florida tour last year. It lasted 300 miles and came apart. From now on I will do my own work. He did’t put locktite of the bolts in the slingers. And 2 bolts came loose and locked my motor up. I have been buying the tools to do all my work. Have a great day. Clyde

I had a complete long block done by PAT'S RESTORATION SERVICES, MONROE, CONNECTICUT 203-556-4119 PMUSANTE17@GMAIL.COM.. I was very pleased with his work. He kept me inform during the rebuild with photos and emails. He is a bit far from Virginia. Give him a call.

Like Ralph I had mine complete 15 Canadian engine done with Pat in Connecticut ,very easy to talk and keeps you up to date about the project. He spent four years earning a degree at Mc Pherson college in Kansas in vehicle restoration. He also did an internship with George King who operated Connecticut Antique Engine Restorations for many years and has since retired.I am very happy with my engine she runs like a top, amazing part was when I put it in she gave a free start as soon as I hit the key!

Just down the road (I95) from you is Clyde Menges. He is in Fayetteville, NC. 910 263 2736. About all he works on are T's. About all of the club members here that choose not to do something on their T have clyde do it.

Well I looks like it will be J and M Machine in Southborough Ma. They are about 20 Miles from My Mom. I was planning a trip to MA in March anyway so I called Them up. Not only can they do it they can get it done for my return trip. I should have all the parts from Bob's and Langs by the time I go up. I hope it won't be that expensive but you never know until you get it all apart.
