If I’m not mistaken I believe announcements like those automatically disappear after a week or so, but I agree. I wish they would take them down ASAP, so member’s posts will move to the very top instead of starting several posts down. If posted announcements must remain at the top, it would helpful and less confusing to new and infrequent users to have a bold line delineating the end of the announcements and the start of members posts. Agree. If at this point you think any form of gathering is going to happen you may have just woken up from a coma. A very long coma.
Forget everything you thought you knew.

My Goodness, if the worst problem you have right now in these times is having to painfully scroll down 5 post to get to the current 1 you are blessed.

I came back to edit to say I don't mean that to be harsh, rude or otherwise uncivilized as I consider you folks good freinds here but with all the suffering in the world right now,I just could not bring myself to complain about scrolling down 5 post.
If you can't help em, don't hinder em'

Hi Mack. Thank you for your input. You weren’t rude. I agree. With all the problems we have at this time, one less problem would be very welcome, soooo...remove the top 5 posts. LOL! :D Jim Patrick

I had thought I messed up something on my computer and sent an email to Jeff wondering why old posts were at the top.
Now I know what a "stickey" is. I learned something today!

I'm on another forum that has what are called "sticky" threads; they are permanent announcements made by the moderators and posted with the permission of the website owner. The forum has been going for over 17 years now, and we are up to six sticky threads. As tdump said, if scrolling down through five posts to get to the regular posts is your biggest problem - congratulations it must be great to be you!

Perhaps they could be put into the announcement section rather than topics. That would be a win -win situation.

How does that look now?

Moved the Museum Info to an announcement, now there is separation between those and the regular posts.

Hi Chris. Once again, it time for you to do your magic for a second time in just 3 weeks. :) The fact you corrected it once is an indication that you recognized how easily it could get out of hand if everybody started competing for those top slots. Hopefully, this time you can find a way to confine all long term posts to the announcement section by Admin and prohibit them being posted in the topics section by members. Thank you. Jim Patrick

It is not any more annoying then E annoy letting some companies list 2,3,4 hundred items at a time, just pass them by or pay them no mind as they say.

I do not get it. What is with the stickeys and announcement stuff at the top of the forum? If something is locked should it not be in the announcement area? Why put a stickey at the top of the topics if it is really an announcement? Then other stuff gets moved down to the 'Forum Support Questions' portion of the forum.
