I can't seem to find the weight for the model T's engine
The Pientpol Sky Scout plane was developed for it, as it was too heavy for his Air Camper, which used the motel A engine.
I'd guess you folks are the ones who'd know

I got 291.15 lbs. for a long block/no trans
now to find the Covair engine weight, that should be easier.
They're still using them in airplanes.

Have you considered VW? Dual ignition heads are available. We used one in the late 70s on an experimental plane.

Neighbor cut a volkswagon engine in 2 and started a 2 cylinder airplane project but never finished it.His 4 cylinder volks powered plane was finished but never flown and is rotting out in the yard.
I just can't get past the idea of flying IN THE AIR,behind a volkswagon engine that sounds like a bucket of chinese made chains

All these T engine blocks people are hauling for scrap because of water jacket cracks,you should be able to get them cheap and knock all the water jacket off them.I saw it on 1 engine,looked like crap on a shingle but I guess it worked back in the day.

I never equated Kansas with aircraft history until I met Grant
who grew up in Wichita and flew experimental aircraft powered
by VW engines while he was growing up.

Cessna started in Kansas - Boeing has had a presence there
for many years.

He was a commercial pilot for Alaska Air for (30) years.
A very nice - intelligent - friendly guy.

Thanks for the replies guys, ford guys are always good guys.
To put this in context, I'm building free flight models, powered by rubber bands.
Some of those fellows are real sticky about "true scale", turns out Corvair engines have been used in the Sky Scout. I could explain more but on a off topic spot.
I am a Ford guy though, put a Scatt stroker kit in a 90 Lincoln small block. Dropped into my 49 Chev, fun. At the drag strip the chevy guys wouldn't talk to me, Ford guys love it.

Oh I came up with 245 lbs., 46 lighter than the model T.
