Lifter guides

When the lifter guides are bored to the max and there is still too much play, what do you use to bring the bores back to standard or at least the first OS?
I've heard of using a flange bushing with the flange at the bottom pressed into a circle milled out under the guide. Should be an easier fix with just a thin steel bushing.
What do folks do?

The lifter bores get bored out for replacement lifter guides presses in, just like valve guides.
Press fit is enough. Not familiar with special flanged bushings & counter bores. Guides should be cast iron, not steel.

you could hard chrome the lifters oversize

You could bore to .500 & use .292/312 y block lifters. Thread them for an adjusting screw. One of my T's is running them now.

There is plenty of side access if you wish to use a set screw for piece of mind. Just Sayin'

Years ago I put model A lifters into a T block. Worked fine.
I am putting the Y block ones into a engine soon.

Trent do you know if the lifter guides in the block are part of the block casting or are they separate pieces thar can be pressed out. If not then the block must be bored to accept the replacement guides, correct?
Much of my experience is with 09, 10 early 11 blocks with the removable guides.

Part of casting, must be bored out.
Any machine shop that can install valve guides can install lifter guides. Should even have a modern guide to do the job. Dan

1909 to early 1911 open valve engines used replaceable brass push rod guides.
