Security: Steering Lock Selection
They sure had several locking steering devices at the time. Some locked the wheel from turning and others had the wheel disengaged so it would just spin and not turn the tires. Middle photo: The one on the left when locked moved the center gear up out of mesh so the wheel just spun. Bottom photo: The rest locked the wheel from turning. (Bob Scherzer)
