The mud makes it somewhat difficult to see some of the unique details on this car. Being a pre-production prototype, It has a few details not found on many (if any? production Ts. You cannot really see the front cross member corner braces in this photo, however, there is another photograph of this same car that clearly shows those braces. According to what I have read, only the prototypes, and maybe less than ten of the first production cars had those smaller corner braces. The rear door handle is in the lower position. I don't know just when it was raised up a few inches, but i think it was less than five hundred cars into production. This picture DOES show the two bolt middle body bracket. That was also changed fairly early in 1909 model Year. I had read that change was also very early, however Pete Eastwood says it was a bit later than I thought. And he should know better than I.
This is a wonderful photo of one of the earliest of all model T Fords!

This is the car that made the test run from Dearborn to Iron Mountain, MI in October of 1908, Henry and two of his men made the run. This pic is at the Piquette plant after they got back.
