Question is, how important is the diagonal oil groove to the function of lubrication? This bushing is about 1.250 inches length, wondering in 1926 if they even had an oil groove ?...

26 touring, putting the top up
[image][/image]Today was the first time putting the top up on the 26 Touring. I was able to get the top up but it doesn’t look right to me. The side brackets are hanging down below the bottom edge of the fabric. Plus the edges of the fabric seem to be loose? I’m hopping the attached pictures will ex...

Re: All season tires
My next inquiry will be with the dept of motor vehicles, but I doubt if they have a variance for vintage vehicles, but it is worth a try

All season tires
In our neck O the woods we are required to run season rated tires from Oct 01 to April 01 these are identified by a M&S insignia on the side of the tire. The 21@ Firestone tires I am using have no such insignia. I drive my 26 Tudor most everyday providing it’s not snowing. It is time to replace the ...

Re: Oil leak at the starter
Does anyone have the part number of the seal?
Yes, that is correct the more oil in the engine the worse the oil leak at the starter is, but I want to run with the oil reservoir topped up for a number of reasons.

Oil leak at the starter
I have an annoying oil leak from the starter motor drain hole on my 26 T. A search on the forum came up with a couple of suggestion, one was installing an oil seal, the other was installing an o ring on the inside of the bushing. This is the method I tried first, partly because I had the O ring on h...

Re: Lightweight Model T Hauling Trailer?
A single axle trailer should be fine, provided you adhere to the load rating of the axles and the tires. A model T at an average of 2000 lbs is not a huge amount of weight. Just think of all the single axled boat trailers on the road, Interesting that trailer tires in our neck of the woods are only ...

Detachable low speed band ear
It's time to change the low speed band material on my 26. The problem is the fellow who last replaced the bands did it while the transmission was out of the car, and apparently he installed the band's backwards, with the removable ear on the side opposite from the pedals. Does this mean the hogshead...

Re: Crankshaft grinding
Brent,
I would for one like to see how you set up a crank for grinding and which surfaces you use as a reference.

Re: Crankshaft grinding
Thanks for the Technical expertise, you are correct in that most of us do not have access to a crankshaft grinder or the ability to operate one.
But it is helpful to know how a T crankshaft "should" be ground, If nothing else.

Re: Crankshaft grinding
Wondering why you would use the flange to index off rather than the lathe centers in the crankshaft ends?
