Re: WTD: Working New Day Timer
The New Days are great timers but will sometimes start to get uneven with long use but are easy to turn on a lathe and reface to like new. I’ve probably refaced over 20 of them over the years.

I have a Stromberg like yours but the linkage isn’t right. It’s for an old tractor setup that originally was supplied with a Kingston.

Re: 40 Horsepower Centerdoor
I got curious about this car so I did a search on Google with the description shown below the photo and found the photo with caption on Google Books. It’s in the March 1923 issue of Popular Mechanics magazine on page 427. Someone has added a lot of notations throughout the magazine and in doing so n...

FS Mercury Speedster Part
Here’s a rare Mercury speedster part made by Pulliam & Pulliam a Los Angeles dealer of the Mercury speedster body. I believe this is a side windshield wing clamp. I don’t know if these came in pairs but this is the only one I have and in my years of collecting T accessories it’s the only one I’ve ev...

Re: Heli Coil
I can’t think of where a 7/16-24 thread is used on a Model T but as far as Heli-Coils go I worked in the nuclear industry for over 30 years and can tell you that Helicoils will hold more then the original thread due to the design of the coil. We used them because torque specs could be increased givi...

Re: APCO Part, Any Ideas?
Wow, that was a fast ID, I looked at a few accessory oil fillers on line but none matched this so I wasn’t quite sure what I had. I’d like to use it on my speedster so I’ll need to hunt down the funnel part that’s missing.

APCO Part, Any Ideas?
This lid/cap came with some Model T parts I picked up a while back. I’ve had a lot of T accessories over the years but I haven’t been able to figure out what this lid’s application was for. The lid measures 3.4” in diameter.
Thanks!

Wow, a lot of great input and photos of these different side lights since I last looked at the post. The last ones posted by Jerry are like the ones I saw years ago. Re: Electric Side Lamps
I suppose these could be some sort of aftermarket. I checked my oil lamps and the lens doors all interchange perfectly and both are the same size. Does anyone have a photo they could post of the rear mount electric lamps? From what I remember they sure look the same just the lamp socket was in a dif...

Electric Side Lamps
I recently purchased these unusual electric side lamps, they are the same as the oil lamps just minus the font & chimney. Years ago I saw an identical set of these and were told they were for the late 1927 T but they mounted from back with a special bracket, these mount from the side. Where would th...

Re: 4 CYL CHWVY ENGINE,
Not sure of rarity of the Olds head or cracks but I have a 3 port Chevy head and was told it was the same as an Olds head but with a bowtie casting mark, I’ve never had it sitting next to an Olds head so I can’t verify if they’re the same. The 1922 Chevy Master Parts Price List show the 3 port head ...

Dallas nailed it as being earlier. I found a photo of a 1916 Premier and it is most likely a Premier running gear. I’ve cropped some details... the front frame horn, the four rivets on the side of the frame and the fender.

I see the mystery car is still a mystery! John, when you first showed me the photos over the weekend for some reason I had thought the engine resembled a Lycoming but looking more at your photos I think the straight six Lycoming were mostly flat heads. Wayne is right, it’s definitely a puzzler but I...

Re: Unknown Wire Wheels
Tim, your hubs look to be 2 piece, is that only on your rears? My hubs are one piece but maybe that’s because they are fronts. Looking at your photo it doesn’t look too likely to be able to modify a front into a rear. I suppose anything’s possible but looking at your hub it appears offset for the br...

Re: Unknown Wire Wheels
Here’s a photo of the back of the hub on one of the Spranger wheels. It has what appears to be a speedometer gear pressed on and bolted in place. It doesn’t look like a typical Stewart Warner speedometer gear unless it’s a gear for some other function?

Re: Unknown Wire Wheels
Thanks John,
I’m not sure if they were all designed or built specifically for the Model T but I did take one of these Spranger wheels and it mounted on a T front axle spindle perfect. I know it’s a long shot but hopefully I’ll be able to locate enough Spranger parts to complete a set.

Re: Unknown Wire Wheels
I kind of made it a little confusing by adding the photo of the Universal wheel that I got with the Sprangers. I wonder if the person who had these before was hoping to find another Universal and using them for rears, they would look a totally different but just a thought. I did take a wood spoke hu...

Re: Unknown Wire Wheels
Thanks Tim and if you still have any of the lugs or bolts it would give me something to copy. Even the rough hubcaps would be a start, I could get castings made from them. You’re right, the hunt is half the fun and looks like I’ll be hunting for a couple wheels!

Re: Unknown Wire Wheels
Thanks for the link Kevin, had no idea there were so many accessory wheels for T’s. I did get another odd ball wire wheel in the mix at the same auction. This one luckily still had the hub cap still in place. It’s a “Universal Welding Co” wheel. To bad I only got the one though. I guess I can either...

Wow, great id! I just searched Spranger and found a couple more period ads but no photos of actual wheels. I’m in the process of gathering up parts to build a speedster so I’ll be on the hunt for a couple of rears to match these. None of the lugs and bolts are correct so I’d be interested in what yo...

Unknown Wire Wheels
Purchased these 2 wheels at an auction a couple weeks back and have been unable to id them. They look a little like Hayes but have 6 mounting lugs instead of 4 and the outer hub is threaded to accommodate a 3” hub cap. The lug plates and bolts on the one wheel don’t seem to fit so I’m not really sur...

Wow, I get back from my shop and get responses with photos even, that was quick! I see the part that I'm missing, my guess is thst whoever removed the trans and shifter assy just removed the 2 top bolts and left the rest bolted to the driveshaft tube. Re: TT Auxiliary Trans
I tried today clamping a u-clamp but you can't get it tight enough. When you go to shift there's a lot of torque from the shift knob and the tower slides left and right on the torque tube. Also, without the part the tower isn't high enough off the torque tube and the shift linkage binds. Not really ...

TT Auxiliary Trans
I recently acquired a Lincoln over/under trans for my TT truck but it's missing the part (or parts) to mount the shift tower. Without it I have no way of mounting the shift tower to the torque tube. The photo shows the tower and shift linkage that I have. Anyone know what parts I need to mount this?...
