Re: Side Curtains for Touring Car (1915-22) For Sale
Campbell,
Thanks for the offer. But if you call up Mike at Classtique Upholstery, you'll find that new side curtains start at $1,350.... and just go up from there depending on the material you select. I think my asking price is more than reasonable so I'm sitting tight.

Side Curtains for Touring Car (1915-22) For Sale PRICE REDUCED
I have a set of Cartouche Side curtains for sale that will fit a 1915 through 1922 Touring car. The eyelets are brass for 15/16 as opposed to nickel for later years, but they can be changed out if you so desire. This set is about 20 years old but in excellent shape and still very soft and pliable. T...

I have three, never used 30 x 3.5 Non-Skids for sale. I'm not sure how old they are but they soft and pliable and show no cracking. I bought them for my Maxwell but I am selling the car so I don't need them. Prices is $500 for all three. Considering these are 400 bucks each nowadays, it's a bargain....

Preventing leaks in your brass radiator... a PSA.
I've had my unrestored 1915 touring for 20 years. I don't know how many miles we've toured, but I've run the wheels off it. In that time, I've had to pull the radiator and fix small leaks every 3 or 4 years. In 2019, I decided I'd had enough of that and made some changes that appear to have worked. ...

Thanks for the lead, Gary.
Allan, many of the front tack strips are good since the roof was over them. The one in the pic is from a 1913 T I had years ago and the tack strip was fine. It was very rigid and held the weight of the Chase blanket just fine.

Stan, I didn't know if the black layer under the green was from a previous paint job or if they put down red primer, a basecoat of black, and then a topcoat of dark green. Either way, that is how the colors stack up. Depending on what lighting is used affects how the color shows up. Add to that, the...

I think it's safe to assume the car wasn't green based on the one sanding experiment I did. Here's a photo, but the description of what I did is in the other post.

1913 Ford Paint colors.... Should we add dark green to the list?
For years, 1913 Model T's were thought to be dark blue. Then, it became more understood that many of the later cars were black. There are many restored dark blue cars that were actually black from the factory, but were painted blue based on what was known at the time. Last week, I purchased the earl...

Hershey is here and for me, it usually starts on the Saturday before when Larry Smith flys in to Harrisburg, PA, get's his car, and drives 2 hours south, to my place in West Virginia. All,
Thanks for he replies. I had already gone to the McMaster site and was planning on going that route. Just thought I'd see if there was someone out there already doing this. Since It's most definitely not a Ford, I'll probably have to go the custom route.

When not playing with my 1913 or 1915 Ford's, I'm working on my 1911 Model Q-11 Maxwell. The car is very complete but it underwent an "incorrect" color restoration in dark green and black, back in the 1950's (It should be light blue). In any event, I have the brass windshield but the long brass supp...

I have reached a point in this hobby - after a 45 year love affair with antique automobiles, that the age of restoring every car we find should cease. Frankly, the only cars (again, this is just my opinion) that should be restored, are the ones where there's just nothing left that you can do with th...
