Engine installation question... 1925 coupe

A few months ago, I pulled the engine from my 25 coupe. It's all patched up and ready to go back in now. Here's the question... if I remove the steering column, can I get the engine back in with the hogshead installed and the pedals adjusted and in their normal position? When I pulled it out, the ho...

Re: Restamping engine numbers

If you really want to get down to the nitty-gritty, the block and the car in which it is being put in are being falsely represented. There are also federal laws which make it illegal to alter items that have been serial coded. Now, HAVING SAID THAT, I would say go for it so long as you make some sor...

John.. Other than the crankcase, I won't know until I start sorting through my stuff. There won't be much, but there will be a few things most likely. If you don't hear back from me, contact me prior to the show.

What are you bringing to SELL at LURAY??

Whether you have a vendor space, or you are just bringing a few parts for the manned Vendor booth, give everyone a heads-up on this thread. I will have the following for sale starting Friday morning. It will all be reasonably cheap, considering: 1913 Model T engine block #279,xxx Bore's are good but...

My unrestored 1915 touring is a very early transition car (jan 15). It does not have the spring bump.

FJ.. Is that car blue, or black? Did it have any cream pin-striping on the body or chassis? Are the wheels natural in finish? Post more pics if you have them. Of an interesting note, that car is only about 80 units off from mine.

Dan, that is an excellent point because many of the folks that go to BBC do indeed stop at Luray first. Thanks for the reminder!

The Oilers pictured were never factory installed on any Model T. What you have there are Maxwell Oilers. If you would like to sell them, send me a PM.

Re: Everbright Protectaclear on Radiator

When I cleared my brass with the product, I contacted the company and found the upper temperature range of the coating to be more than adequate. But I chose to not coat the radiator because I drive my cars and the brass radiators are bound to require work. I didnt want to have to strip the coating s...

Re: It's time to STOP RESTORING, and START PRESERVING the remaining good original cars that are left...

Val nailed it. When you take a grinder to it and restore the car, there are details that are lost to the ages. The red Chevelle i posted above is the second SS Chevelle like that, that I've had. I would take the previous car to shows and park it in a sea of restored Chevelle's and Camaro's. The un-r...

Here's a "before and after" shot of the Chevelle I recently preserved. You take a car like this to the Saturday evening car show at the local ice cream joint, and EVERYONE gathers around it. The same happens with my un-restored 1915 Touring. Everyone wants to see how the factory put this screw in, o...

Bob... Car's don't need to be the caliber of the Rip Van Winkle car. Although they do need to be in a condition that is serviceable. Right now, I am preserving a 1968 SS-396 Chevelle. The body is straight, but it has rust. The floors had to be replaced along with the trunk. The interior has some tea...

It's time to STOP RESTORING, and START PRESERVING the remaining good original cars that are left...

I realize that I am going to tied to the whipping post for this, but I really don't care. My subject line says it all. I believe that as a club, we should start encouraging "preservation" instead of restoration, when correct, original cars are discovered. Over the past few years, I have seen four, g...
