Re: "Instruction Book" vs "Ford Manual"
One thing I still want an answer to is what book came with the toolkit. The 1914 list of tools list a "Ford Manual." Was that really the "Ford Manual" or did they really mean "Instruction Book." (They are NOT the same book). Which one came with the toolkit? Or were both of them included in the toolk...

Re: a Long shot
Yeah, but it's not just the "young guys" who can't afford a Model T. I'm an "old guy" at 65. I've loved Model T's ever since I was about 14 but have never had a complete running car. Like many people's experience, life simply got in the way. When I was a teenager, I got my dad interested in old cars...

Re: "Instruction Book" vs "Ford Manual"
Well, I'm feeling like I knew less than I did before this post. I guess the main things I would like to have answered are: 1) Was the "Instruction Book" the one that was always included with the toolkit? 2) Where/how did the Model T owners obtain the "Ford Manual"? Did they have to purchase that one...

Re: "Instruction Book" vs "Ford Manual"
Now I'm confused even more. Someone else said the Ford Manual I have pictured is for 1914. So, was there a "Ford Manual" for 1913, and an "Instruction Book?"Original Smith wrote: ↑Tue May 20, 2025 2:34 pmThe Ford manual for 1913 is different than the one you posted.

"Instruction Book" vs "Ford Manual"
Here are some more question I have asked before in the past but never received a good answer. I always been confused about the difference between the "Model T Instruction Book" VS the "Ford Manual." This is a 1913 Model T Instruction Book: ModelT_Early 1913_Instruction Book_Fourth Edition June 1912_...

Re: First Model T Toolkit Jack
Here is another photo of the early Buckeye Ford "Detroit" jack, the 1914 Buckeye block letter Ford jack, and on top is the steel handle that fits both of them:

Re: First Model T Toolkit Jack
Another thing is this ad from the "Automobile Trade Journal" in 1913. It lists a Buckeye jack number 000 that is 17.5 inches tall. It also lists a number 00 that is 16.5 tall. So, were these jacks without the block letter "Ford" sold only directly from the Buckeye company--and not Ford? 1913 PAPER A...

First Model T Toolkit Jack
I have been a reader (learker?) of this forum for many years but have not kept up with it regularly. One think I asked about several years ago is still something I am not completely clear about. I am under the impression that the first jack appeared in a Model T toolkit in 1914. Some have argued tha...

Moving the Screw on the back of a 1915 headlight
Quick question: what are the differences between 1915-16 headlight and the later lights? I've noticed that the position of the screw is on top. Can a later headlight be converted to a 1915 style by rotating the light bulb socket, so that the screw is on top? I need a pair of 1915-16 lights but I onl...

Re: Tool question
Apparently, each car came with a Ford Manual and a Parts List. One question I've have always had is: What about the "Model T Instruction Book"? Where did those come from? Did they come with a new car, or did you have to get one from a Ford dealer? ModelT_1913_Instruction Manual_Authentic with blue l...

Re: Tool question
Haven't posted in this forum for a few years. I know there have been several discussions in the past about the factory toolkits and not all questions have been solved. I'm not certain what the "Repair kit (tire)" would have looked like in 1915. Here is a photo of the one that Ford began using in 191...

Was the early hub wrench painted?
The earliest Model T toolkits for 1909-11 contained a hub wrench that Ford purchased from Weston Mott. Does anyone know if this wrench was originally painted, and if so, what color? Most of them I've seen are unpainted but is that original? Someone on this forum once posted a photo of one that was r...

Re: Strange Hub Wrench
Wow. Learn something new every day. Would it be worth as much as a 1911-12 hub wrench or would there be anyone looking for a 1914-16 Chevy wrench?

Strange Hub Wrench
What is the deal with this wrench? It looks like a 1911 Model T Toolkit hub wrench. However, the small opening is a hexagon (8-sided), instead of the normal 6-side. Were some of them made this way or is it for something else?

Then I would like to know: Is the Bridgeport tire pump with the Ford script for a Model T? This is not the only one I've ever seen.

Single Barrel Bridgeport Tire Pumps
I recently purchased a single barrel Bridgeport tire pump. I thought it was the correct one for the 1915 era Model T. Now I'm not sure. I've noticed it does NOT have the Ford script on the bottom. Does anyone know what year(s) the single-barrel Bridgeport pump was supplied with new Model T Fords? Do...

Oil Cans for Model T Ford
None of these cans are mine. These are some digital photos I've saved for a long time. Most of these are very scarce. They are all photos of oil cans that are produced by Ford or are for Model T Ford use: Ford_AutomobileMotorOilCan.jpg Ford_PolarineOilCan.jpg Ford_MotorOilCan_1913.jpg Ford_MocoAutoO...
