Paint with the paint of your choice. I manufacture the P aluminum high compression head. We use Duplicolor engine paint in our shop with no problems. Don't try to over engineer the project. Paint and Go. Have fun.

The head could be from the 70's if it has countersunk steel washers to protect the aluminum. The R was for Rod Genson at the Palmer Foundry in Mass.
They were great heads and long since gone.
