Re: Gypsy curtain hook
I should have made the post that I was looking to buy a hook for the gypsy curtain. If anyone out there has one, please let me know. My thought is that they don't look too difficult to make, but I would rather have one that Henry made.

I need one hook for my '26 roadster gypsy curtain. I had two, but I can't find the second one. This is what they look like.

Re: Angle of the windshield of a '26 roadster
Here is a photo of my roadster. I think the question has been answered that there is a slight slope to the rear of the windshield stantions. Here is a picture of the T before I added the headlights.

Angle of the windshield of a '26 roadster
I am about to install the top and side curtains of my 26 Roadster. At what angle should the windshield be? Is it straight up and down, or does it have a rake to it? If it has a rake, how much should it be?
Thanks!
Thanks!

There was no under-seat sheet metal on my early '26 roaster. The lower sheet metal shown below is a replacement of what was there and had rusted out

Here is a much-enlarged shot of the brackets in question. The photos are hampered by a metal channel used to support the body when it was on the rotisserie. The metal channel is marked by the red arrow.

That last one with the RR tracks in the foreground was by Walker Evans. A truly great photographer of the 30s and 40s and later. Many of his photos have As and Ts in them. https://www.google.com/search?q=walker+evans&tbm=isch&chips=q:walker+evans,g_1:american+photographs:4DE3gg0dsAo%3D&hl=en&sa=X&ve...

The aluminum gutter is another discrepancy. It is obviously meant to be a Candian T as it has an Ontario license plate.

The two holes may have been for a review mirror.

Re: spare tire carrier year of service
So the single bolt was at the top in the later roadsters and coupes, not at the bottom. So that is why I adapted the tire carrier to a four bolt type for my early '26 because the reinforcement where it attached inside the trunk showed two places to attached two bolts.

Re: spare tire carrier year of service
I definitely think the four hole ones were of early cars. I had a discussion with Donnie Brown about this and we decided that even though the parts book of 1928 shows the 4 hole one and that the later cars of '26 and '27 used three hole mounts, Ford never upgraded the illustration in the parts book ...

Zinc scuff plates
My early '26 roadster came with what I believe to be zinc door sill plates. They have some minor damage. I would like to repair what is missing on one of them and fix the crack on the other. Can this be done? Also, what is the best way to restore these sill plates? Glass bead sandblasting or would a...

Re: spare tire carrier year of service
I believe the 4 bolt was used on the early '26 roadsters. My October '25 build of my 26 roadster had a 4 hole mount. The bracket was missing and I was able to get a nos three-hole spare rim bracket. I brazed the bottom whole closed and drilled two new holes to match the body. The Ford List of Parts ...

Re: Attaching the front top bow clamp to the front bow, '26 roadster
Thanks Norman, Yes, I have put the bow on the windshield posts and they fit when I had the clamps attached to the irons temporarily with bolts. I assume that rivets are used to go through the clamp and the wood bow. 3/16" I believe. They will be flat-headed. I was unsure if I should use a flat head ...

Re: 26 Roadster wood kit
The '26 and the 27s are different. In fact, the early '26 is different than the later ones. Here are the photos of mine which is an Oct 25 roadster. Note that the body mounting blocks are different than the later models. The wood for the tack strip is a joke. I ended up using the plastic tack strip.
