Re: FJ - Legendary Ed Archer Sits For A Visit
Great interview. I met Ed for the first time when he came to West Bend, Wisconsin to promote Edy's ice cream with his Model T ice cream truck in 1988 at the grand opening of the Sentry grocery store. Thanks for the memories, Ed!

Re: snowbird parts info
William,
Here is a drawing showing the parts of the Snowbird. The plate you are referring to is trapezoidal and replaces the bar under the front spring clamp. It should be easy to have one laser cut from 1/2" steel. I would love to see pictures of your Model T snow machine.

Re: Dairyland Tin Lizzie's Model T University
Billy, Thank you for hosting this event for the Dairyland Tin Lizzies. It was a fun day. I think we had between 40 and 50 people in attendance, with many visitors from the Milwaukee chapter of MTFCI and a good number of Illinois Model T guys. The demonstrations by Gregg Z., Dave D., and Jim H. were ...

Re: Shortened driveshaft , driveshaft tube, and rear radius rods
Birdhaven bought the Texas T Parts business and is a dealer for the Layne K.C. Warford. They sell new driveshafts which are 12" shorter and offer the service of shortening the driveshaft housing for their transmission purchasers. You could check with them.

Re: Speedo setting up
I don't have speedometer experience, but it makes sense that the small gear would turn 1/18th faster with one less tooth, which would give you about 2 mph higher reading at 35 mph, which would be closer to your GPS reading of 38 mph.

For what its worth, here are my experiences of not using rim flaps and using rim flaps on 30 x 3 1/2 clincher tires...… When I built my 1922 huckster as a teenager in the 1980's, I started out with old cotton cord tires that I purchased as I found them at swap meets, flea markets, etc. They still ha...

1926-27 roadster pickup box
For sale is a nice 26-27 roadster pickup box. As you can see, it has the front panel with battery bump-out and the filler pieces intact. There is some rust in the channel under the tailgate. Otherwise, the only other rust-out is on one flare board, and that is a flat surface which is easy to patch. ...

26-27 Roadster pickup bed
Nice 26-27 Roadster pickup bed. Note front panel with battery bump out and filler strips are intact. Inside flanges where wood would be mounted are in good shape. Channel under tailgate has some rust, but every one I have seen has rust here and that piece is reproduced, to my knowledge. Flat surface...

I think the old "Tinkerin Tip" for those metal strips is to purchase a metal tape measure with the correct width tape, cut it to the proper lengths, and paint them black.
