The rear wheels on a Model 91 Overland have the outer flange made onto the hub and the brake drum serves as the backing plate. I never thought about the spokes being reversed so I went out and looked. Front hubs are like T hubs.

Looks like a brass body L4. Those had a smaller bowl nut than the cast iron version. It’s also missing one of the arms for the choke, and it has a late model spray needle. Those bowls will interchange with the early NH bowls (to the left) but have a different drain.

It works but they started using a slightly larger float because of increased fuel pressure from the cowl mounted tank. I’ve never had a cowl mounted tank, so I say they work, but I figure since they only make the smaller floats and I’ve never heard much discussion about them not working.

Re: Speedometer

I’ve got that speedometer to go in a speedster with an Overland body, fits perfectly with existing holes. If you took that bracket off the back and turned it 180 degrees it should fit. You might have to drill more holes to attach the bracket back to the speedometer.

Re: Which is correct?

I turned mine around from how they are in this picture because I read on here the oiler facing the rear is supposed to be on top so you don’t have to climb under the car to put oil in.
Maybe a close up of a factory photo would show how the later style were installed originally.

Re: trying Evaporust for the first time

I’ve used Evaporust as well as other harsh chemicals and found out on another forum that citric acid works just as well and is relatively inexpensive to mix up a 5 gallon bucket full. It comes in powdered form and you get it by the Mason jars in the canning department. I partially dipped this intake...

Re: Rebuilding a cork clutch. And YES this is T related

This is who I talked to, Ron Fellows, just outside of El Paso. This is from the 2008 forum so I’m not sure if the phone number is the same and I believe he told me he was moving. It seems like he told me about the process. I remember something about inserting the corks and facing them down on a lath...

Re: Rebuilding a cork clutch. And YES this is T related

I believe Doug Wildrick is the main person doing Hudson clutches now. There was a man in El Paso, Texas that dt I spoke to around 2008 when I put a clutch in my 47. He said he was moving and I think also going to stop doing them. I soaked the disc all night in “Hudsonite” oil before I installed it. ...

Re: Driver's side headlight won't light

Either the passenger side headlight socket is grounded or there is a short to ground somewhere in the wire that goes across to the drivers side. If the drivers side bulb was blown neither would work.

Re: Steering column

Along the lines of what Wayne said, I’ve got this column with a later one piece gear box and reproduction brass quadrant that I’m going to use on a speedster. You can tell it doesn’t belong together but it’s similar and nobody but T people will know. I had it in my 1914 until I found an original col...

Re: OT what is this old tool?

Thanks. That makes sense because I think he found it in his other grandpa’s barn. He had been a carpenter. I remember being down there and seeing an old asbestos siding cutter. The old house that was there had that, I believe the carport that’s still there has it now. No telling what all is in there.

OT what is this old tool?

This probably isn’t even automotive related but my cousin found this old tool and we can’t figure it out. I told him somebody here would know.

Re: Speedometer 18 roadster.....

I wanted a speedometer for my 14 but it was a bit out of my range all at once. One day I bought a wheel gear off eBay and I had to finish it then. I just bought a part at a time when they popped up until I had it all. I think I paid $150 for the swivel, that was the most expensive part out of them a...

Here are pictures of both sides of a presumably original ring gear and a pic of a reproduction. It looks like it roils be possible to machine an original and the gash marks not be present.

Re: Pads around spark plugs

Years ago I had a 1937 Plymouth and I bought some spark plug “anti-moisture “ covers or whatever they called them. They were a metal bowl that took the place of the washer on the bottom or maybe eorked with it somehow, I don’t remember. The top was rubber that snapped on the base. The only thing I c...
