Broken global repairman?

I'm in Nashville looking for a glass globe repairman. I was pouring packing peanuts over a glass globe I've had in a box for two years and a T part poured over on the globe and broke it. I should have left the damn thing unpacked being it's been safe for the past two years that way! There are a few ...

Wheel Balancing weight diagnosis

I've read many articles and posts on varying preferred methods of balancing the wheels all to get a smooth ride. What I have not read is how anyone has determined the ounces to add in either dyna-beads or the stick on weights. The loose bearing method is great, but how do you go about calculating ho...

Notes from my 2x Great Uncle Douglas

I wanted to to share a few notes I came across in material from my Great Great Uncle Taylor W. Douglas. The first is a comical statement describing the engine/trans operations followed by a letter from Bruce McCalley. The folder includes my uncle’s check ledger on a legal pad showing purchases as he...

Re: Aluminum pipe. Yay or Nay?

After reading my initial post, it’s confirmation I can’t watch the football game and type a full thought at the same time 😝

What I was trying to ask was the measurable effects on cooling the coolant further with the finned aluminum pipe (or straight and cheaper aluminum pipe) vs my rubber flex hose.

Aluminum pipe. Yay or Nay?

Is there measureable difference for those using the finned aluminum pipe (or cheap no finned pipe)? I assume there is when using a steal pipe depending on flow of coolant on a non-water pump T. Im using a rubber flex pipe and I’m not concerned with imagine for this hodge podge truck. Just functional...

Re: Motometer thermo replacement part

Dan, would zip tying my Peerless to the T hub accomplish that of a lathe? Clearly a lot slower rotation which may be the required case.

Re: Motometer thermo replacement part

The glass tube isn't broken. I'll try the options y'all suggested to get the mercury back to the bottom as it should be.
It is a Peerless. I assume the tubes are universal?

Re: Motometer thermo replacement part

Great feedback everyone.
My large motometer thermo tube is broken. the red (mercury?) fluid is, and has been since I bought it years ago, at the top of the tube. Now that I have the engine built and running, I'd like to have a working meter.

Cutout wiring help

Can y'all help me get my cut-out wired correctly? Which terminal does the yellow gen wire go to and the black seems to be a ground. The remaining terminal will be for the wire from the loom. I'm running a 6v system with mags and a battery if that helps.
