Re: Hundredth Anniversary Ford Coca-Cola bottles.
A shameless plug for the innovation of bottled Coca Cola lays with Joseph A. Biedenharn a candy store owner in Vicksburg, Mississippi in 1894. Coca Cola later standardized the iconic bottle we all are familiar with, even today, in the early 20th century. The rights to bottle Coca Cola was sold for $...

Still need some help with length of drag link & tie rod on an early 1910 front axle
I called myself looking up these measurements but can’t find anything with the exception of a letter of change in 1912. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Best John

Looks like a 12 model year block, production was till the end of September 1912, your block was cast 9/17/12 so it probably was built before the end of September.

Re: 5 to 1 steering
For me the easiest way to work the 5/1 gears in an early riveted brass head is by doing one of the triple gears at a time using yellow time saver your mileage may very. Takes about 2 hours doing it that way. Best John

Steve here is a link to the classified add in the forum from the late Bob Shirley’s estate that was purchased at the auctions. It’s an early Mercury body. Hope this helps.

George the left rear fender is for 1909/10 with the 2 butterfly mounts. Can’t really tell on the front fenders as pictured but they appear to be pre 1911 but could be later.
I check & compare with some know 09/10 fronts

Joe is spot on! We have at least (9) 26-7 blocks that are unusable without sleeving & seats & at least 3 that have no hope for repair without spending crazy money to repair.

Herb I think you have what is left of an early Jno Brown generator judging by the wing nut locks.

Re: 7.5 degree timing advance
I’m thinking that since I bought those nylon timing gears years ago (probably 10 years or more) they may be questionable to run so I’ll go with Dan’s bronze ones. Unfortunately of the 5 I have of those, they are all standard not 7.5 gears. I drive quite a bit & at my health/age I’m not looking for a...

Re: 7.5 degree timing advance
Has the type material been changed in the nylon timing gears being produced now? I ask because I recall reading a few post about the old nylon gears having major issues in engines running a generator but not so much if a non generator motor. I’m interested in the responses selfishly because in the p...

Bruce I agree with the majority, you’re good to go & money saved. The clinchers are named for what they do, that edge clinches under the rim lip & as long as your rim edge isn’t sharp you should get regular service out of it. Just be sure you air it up to seat it well. I listen for a small noise & t...
