I’ve taken my head off at least 4 times in the past couple of years and have reused the same copper gasket each time. As long as you are careful when you remove it so as not to bend or distort it, it will work just fine with some copper coat.

Pinion and ring gear ratios

Can someone please explain when you would want one ratio over another? Particularly when it’s being used in a Ruxstell?

Re: Busted axle

The wheel is intact! The ruckstell axle took the brunt of it. Drove over a railroad crossing and the wheel just popped off.

Busted axle

My axle busted last weekend. What am I looking at replacing? Axle, fender; ruckstell backing plate? Anything else I should expect? What is my estimated cost?? Thanks!

Soft brakes

In the midst of parade season. I noticed when driving to the parade my brakes are crisp and work fine, by the end of the parade, the brakes feel really soft and I ended up using the hand brake a few times. What could be the problem or is that normal? I am running Rocky Mountain Brakes in addition to...

Re: What have you done to your Model T in July?

What fun! Frontier Days is just the best! If you've never experienced a multi-day, multi-event Rodeo Extravaganza, this is the place to be in late July!! Been a few years since I've attended, and I think it's about time I return - maybe next year. Our local Rodeo is very impressive, but Cheyenne is...

A belt driven 6V alternator could offer the opportunity to save some weight and have more and better regulated wattage available.

Add alternator, remove generator, use red top battery, remove battery carrier.

How do you have your red top mounted?

Gaskets

In general, do you really need any gaskets on the model T? Other than the head gasket, couldn’t you just use various permatex products where you would use a cork or cardboard gasket?

I did heli coils for head bolts in the block after the threads were stripped and it’s working fantastic and took the proper torque just fine.

Re: In car magneto recharge with welder

I renovated an old 40 Volt about 40 Amp Golf Cart Battery Charger that works very good with three short 5 Second zaps. It had a 8 Hour Time Out Switch that was replaced with a heavy duty push button. The last one I did had a compass that pointed right to the transmission case and pedals all over. S...
