Re: Replacing the Handbrake Pawl

Thanks all. Dan - I looked all over the darn manual for that page - One would think "handbrake" or Pawl or control quad etc would have pointed there! Anyway looks and sounds easy enough. Thanks!

Replacing the Handbrake Pawl

My handbrake pawl has never “grabbed” the teeth of the controller quadrant. I have lived w/o a locking handbrake for 5 years. Time to fix this! The teeth on the quad are excellent but the pawl is rounded and barely touches the teeth. I have read several forum threads on replacing the pawl and all se...

Re: 13T - New radiator preparation

Some may cringe at this but..... With a new brass radiator it is a great time to do a clear coat on it. I did this on all my brass on my '14 about 2 years ago. I love brass cars and I like it to shine. I used Everbrite ProtectaClear (everbritecoatings.com). It handles the high temps just fine and (s...

Searching this new forum

I use basic google searches like: "MTFCA coil box wiring..... etc" - Doing this I get loads of historic posts from the years of forum entries - BUT I do NOT get ANY posts held in the new forum. Has anyone found a way to search both?

Re: Electronic Ignition Troubleshoot

Thanks for the comments... Well, the plugs are good and run well with the points. I too suspected this could be the issue so tried gaps of .025, .030", and .032". To be honest I could not tell the difference... Just runs like crapola... I do have a dedicated ground from dist head to block per advice...

Electronic Ignition Troubleshoot

I have read on the forum that many folks with distributors really like the performance with the ignitor plate installed. So I put one in (Pertronix), along with the recommended carbon plug wires. I followed directions to the letter and have very poor results (it runs very rough). I have a 12 volt co...

Re: how to make an out of state purchase

I agreed on a price "pending personal visit". Then flew to Calif, looked at the car and was pleased with the description he had provided. Before my trip I mapped out where a branch of my bank was. We drove together to the branch and I initiated a wire transfer to his account. We then went back to th...

Re: Questions about Victor #2 Lights

My 14 (Sept 4th) has the same cowls you describe. But the font (kerosene tank) on both the cowls and tail has a brass top and black steel bottom. I can not tell in your photo if the bottoms are black or brass. Nice job working on those by the way... My tail light has red round back, green round left...

Everbright Protectaclear on Radiator

I have read several threads over the years claiming how great the Everbright Protectaclear coating is on brass if the proper preparation is followed. I have not seen feedback on the durability of the product on the radiator. Has anyone tried this coating on their brass radiator? A bit nervous about ...
