Re: I have a couple Dumb questions

So , found a starter in my barn that turned well by hand , removed starter in car , that starter had a gasket between the starter and the block , installed “ new found “ starter in car without gasket and everything turns fine now . Would the gasket have been the issue ? If so , why do they have gask...

I have a couple Dumb questions

Ok , going to sound dumb here , I’ve just replaced all the wiring in my 26 roadster pickup project, I think my starter is bad as I have made a good clean ground and also ran an addition ground wire from the mounting bolt on the starter directly to the battery . Engine barely tunes and ground is supe...

21” split rims

Trying to get my tires on split rims ( demountable ) to no avail , have used the rim tool , have used the turn buckle and the wooden plates with a Jack between them to help spread open to be able to latch them , but cannot get them to open up enough without them twisting . Any other ideas ?
Thanks .

Tire sizes for 26/27 , will 450/475-21 be ok on my roadster pick up?

Just wondering if it’d be ok to use 450/475-21 tires on my roadster pick up project ? Will I need different sized tubes and flaps as well ?

Thanks in advance !!

Re: Rescued today !! Looking for info on the rear wheels.

Wood Wheels mount with hooks to spokes of iron wheels , see pictures , no luck yet finding a tag , but the iron wheels have brake drums that fit the tt axle , not sure why the wood wheels are even used . Pretty neat set up though!

Re: Rescued today !! Looking for info on the rear wheels.

The wheels definitely need rebuilt , just wondered why they would even bother bolting the rear wood wheels to the cast iron ones ? TT rear differential, thinking the whole thing was TT at some point.
