I think the bolt should face the cam side of the engine and instead of cotter key, wire bolt to rod.

How do you attach brass trim? On some speedsters I see screws, but is there a method so no screws show for a nice smooth look?

I have installed later larger drums with good bonded linings, and while I have not driven this yet, T I had the idea that using the emergency brake would now serve to brake the car when needed.

Re: Thinking about a downdraft manifold and carb. Any suggestions?
Thank you all for your comments. I am just brainstorming the idea and your feedback is helpful, Sounds like I should leave well enough alone. I have had mid 1930's Buicks with updraft and found when converted to downdraft all around performance was greatly improved.

finishing firewall
Purchase 3/4" oak finished on both sides plywood to make firewall for my speedster build. Think I would stain with cherry and then a good coat of varnish. Does that sound appropriate? If not please give me some advise. Thank you, Don Hanson

Re: Enclosed trailer tie downs
Winch from the rear by threading the cable thru a pulley that slips over the front axle {in the middle of the axle} and bring the cable to a tie down at the rear of trailer. Then winch the car to position you want it, fasten rear tie downs with some slack and then winch tight. You will end up withe ...
