Thanks everyone.
I should have known about the "glue" thing myself.
I ordered Assembllee Goo green.
Have a nice week and hopefully better weather than here in Bavaria.

Easy way to install valve split keepers?
How do I install the split keepers when the engine is in the car and the intake and exhaust manifolds are mounted on the engine?
I use a compressor tool for the spring - see photo.

Re: special valve-question
Hello everyone, Jerry: The larger valves are "modern style" with valve spring retainer split keepers. Kerry: The casting number is C100017; I believe the date is 7-19-16. I'll check again in the next few days. Allan: Yes, it really is a nickel beauty, as you described. On the exhaust valve plate, yo...

Re: special valve-question
Yes, that's what I was thinking about, too. I've already checked the play in the valve guides; it's really minimal. Perhaps that was the case with the older valves. The valves installed now are fairly new. I think those plastic sleeves would be rather unfortunate. That's why I removed them. Thanks f...

special valve-question
Hello specialists, I'm currently restoring a 1917 Ford T Touring by Dunkan and Frazer from Adelaide, Australia. Because I also want to adjust the valves precisely, I removed the cylinder head and both valve covers. I discovered that the tappet outlets were fitted with short plastic sleeves from a pl...

Air leaks between valve stems and the guides
Vintage Ford magazine, September/October 2022 issue, page 41 describes how to reduce air leaks between valve stems and the guides: with felt washers are held in place by sheet metal clips. It also says here: they are sold as a complete set. I checked Snyders, Langs and Macs but found nothing. Can so...

technical question about the starter.
Hi there, I have a technical question about the starter. What is the power of the starter (in KW) and what is the power consumption (peak and nominal current). I am the President of the Ford Model T Club of Germany and a member really wants to know this. Thank you in advance for the information and ...

Re: Rim question
It is a 26er Touring of a friend. The vehicle comes from Argentina. But it has tires of size 30 x 3 1/2 with wood wheels and the removable rims are split rims. Which rim for the spare tire should he order, for example, Snyders ???

Rim question
Hello everyone
On my 26-Touring there are 30x3 1/2 tires with removable split rims. Is a 21 inch split rim from Snyders or Langs the right size for a spare wheel or should 30x 3 1/2 removable rims be ordered?
Thank you for your information

Use a torque wrench in difficult places
When the engine is installed or in other situations, it is a problem to use the torque wrench for example with cylinder head bolts. Here's a little tip: 1. Tighten an easily accessible screw with the desired torque. 2. Use the torque wrench to readjust a ring / open-end wrench with welded-on pick-up...

accessories question
Does anyone know the function of these accessories? I found it on a newly bought 1926 Ford Model-T. It was mounted between the carburetor and the intake manifold. There is a metal ball in each of the two small chambers. In the large chamber is a nozzle that comes from the wire jacket.

Engine number question
When I overhauled my engine, I found a second number on the left side (bottom right - see photo): 52318. What does this number mean?
The engine number at the water inlet is C 171352; a Canadian production.

Rajo-head questions
I am currently starting a complete overhaul of my 13 Speedster with Rajo-Head and need your help. First question: is it possible to check the valves for opening and closing with respect of piston travel. Or is there another method and if so, with which values? Secon question: How tight should the he...
