Re: Ruckstell rebuilds
It is that type. I’ve added the amount of shims as per the instructions. There is binding at one or two spots in the ring gear rotated. The rest of the time it turns freely.

Ruckstell rebuilds
Is there anyone near Reading PA that has Ruckstell axel rebuild experience? When I bolt in the driveshaft the pinion binds. Using the modern driveshaft spool. The spool is set per the instructions. I think at this point I need hands on help.
Thanks

Re: Ruckstell Pinion clearance
Thanks for the advice everyone! It turned out to by the set screw on that collar contacting the inside of the driveshaft tube. It definitely looks like enough clearance, but I guess not!

Re: Chickasaw Report
I had heard this meet was dying but it certainly doesn't seem like it. Pent up demand? Maybe I'll make the treck from PA next year. My kids are old enough now where I don't think they would miss me... I'm happy to see these little meets like this one and Luray doing well. When people bring good stuf...

Ruckstell Pinion clearance
Hi, I'm having an issue with a Ruckstell axel rebuild. I'm using a 39 tooth ring gear and a 13 tooth pinion. On the drive shaft I'm using "modern" drive shaft spool with the tapered bearing. The driveshaft is new. I set the spool with those little shims as directed. I'm not using a gasket between th...

Re: Need for a dedicated Speedster Forum ?
maybe off topic, but I find the Model T Facebook pages pretty poor. Posts are littered with personal opinion and a lot of the information in inaccurate. This forum has been around a long time & doing key word searches yields a lot of information. Be careful about the multiple categories. The AACA fo...

Pinion Gears
I'm trying to find a 13 tooth pinion gear for a Ruckstell rebuild. All the vendors seem to be running out of pinion gears. Does anybody know the story about what's going on with this? I was ok when the shortages were just about TP, but not this!

Re: One more Luray Post
This was my first Luray trip and I was very pleased with the amount of items I sold. It seemed the items were going on restorations which is great. One question I have is there was a guy three rows from the woods (about in the middle facing the pavilion) that had two solid steel wheels with 16" tire...

Re: FJ - How to keep your trailer from being stolen
I pull a 25' enclosed with a 28' class A motorhome. I know all too well about the dinky hotel parking lots. It seems to be a construction trend now, probably to make the truckers drop their trailers someplace else. I learned the hard way to use google earth to look at the hotel from the air before I...
