Re: Emergency brake as service brake

I installed the equilizer on my 27 roadster pickup last year. I like mine and it works pretty good. It has to be adjusted to use both the transmission brake and emergency brake to work right.

Re: FRANK TAYLOR SCAM?

I had one said he was sending a cashier check for $7500.00 with the transporter. I said to send the check and I would deposit it. I also said I would hold the check until the bank and I were sure the funds were good and that it would take 90 days or more. Did not hear from him again.

I installed the equalizer on my 27 T and really like it. I wrote an article about it for the Tennessee Ts December newsletter. Re: Fan, distant from radiator

The pulley I removed looked like the one on top. The new pulley with ball bearings looks like the bottom. I installed a 2" spacer and boy can you feel the air going into the radiator. With the old pulley you could barely feel the air going into the radiator. I ran it in the shop for about 15 minutes...

Re: Fan, distant from radiator

I have a motometer and the red gets all the way to the top and steam would come out the overflow when going slow in low and stopping at red lights on a hot day, it would cool to the lower part of the motometer when I got so I could run about 30 MPH for a few minutes. I also have an infrared thermome...

Re: Fan, distant from radiator

As long as I am moving it runs cool. On a hot day with driving around town in mostly stop it gets hot. Cools off when get back on road at about 30 MPH. Sitting still it get hot even when I run the rpms up. I removed the water pump because it leaks and I wanted to try without the pump. Has a recently...

Fan, distant from radiator

I have a 1927 roadster pickup. It has a 1920 engine but it has the 1927 water outlet that is adjustable for the belt. I replaced the fan pulley and bushing with the updated ball bearing and pulley today. The fan is now 2.5 inches from the radiator. Should I put a spacer to get the fan closer to the ...

Re: Hand Brake extension

I have a 27 roadster pickup. I made this for the hand brake. It took lots of grinding, adjusting and redoing to get it to pass under the dash and not hit the seat. My father lost his left hand in a farming accident in the early 70s and make this red know for his tractor so that he could turn the ste...

BRAKE EQUALIZER

I have a 1927 T Roadster Pickup. Went on a 60 mile tour today. Had a great time. We went down several hills and I need to add better brakes. Any one use the BRAKE EQUALIZER T-2565-X "26-27" from Snyders. What are your thoughts on this brake equalizer?

Re: Exhaust pipe heat

I wrapped my exhaust pipe just under the floor board on my 27 Roadster Pickup and have had no issue. The floor is cooler. It is lots easier to remove the exhaust to wrap it.

Got the signal lights and stop light installed yesterday on Tinker T. Also made a cup holder out of a hollowed out tree limb.
Now I can let others know what I am about to do and enjoy my coffee, too.

Re: Vibration at higher RPMs

I do not know about the blocks you are referring to.
The motor mounts I saw are one in the front under the hand crank and one on each side. Driver side by the starter. Should there be wood blocks somewhere on this.

No wood blocks for engine mounts. Some really great suggestions. Look like it is now down to flywheel or transmission.

Re: Vibration at higher RPMs

I put a tack and the vibration is slight at idle (300-400 RPM) and get pretty bad getting above 700 or so. I shorted out each plug at about 700 RPMs. I did not try getting above 800 RPMs (if my tack is right) because of the bad vibration. Would miss when plug shorted out but vibration did not lessen...

Hank, Had the coils rebuilt and adjusted by The Coil Doctor, new plugs and new New Day timer. Cleaned and tightened the plug wires and the wire under the coil box. Did not think about checking to see if missing at higher RPM. Got the truck last December and it was doing it then. Will do the ole scre...

Vibration at higher RPMs

My 1927 T roadster pickup has a 1920 engine/transmission and at low to moderate RPMs it is smooth, but at high RPMs it starts to have lots of vibration under no load or running down the road. What would be the first suspect? I thought maybe the rear main bearing may be worn so I pulled the oil pan. ...

Re: Transmission bands

Got the wood bands installed. Took it for a short drive and they work great. I found it easier for me to remove first then remove and reinstall the starter. The best advice that I got was the dental floss to tie on the washers and nuts. I have a tendency to drop small parts. With the floss I was not...

Re: Transmission bands

The wood band is all that would need to be trimed. The wide wood band had 4 oil groves, if I trim at the 2 outside oil groves the inside 2 oil groves matches perfectly with the other 2 wood bands. All 3 steel bands are the narrow ones. When did Ford change to have one wide band? Thanks very much for...

1927 T runs with battery disconnedted

I purchased a 1927 roadster pickup in December. I had coils rebuilt and installed new New Day Timer, spark plugs and new carburetor. Runs better on 6 v battery that mag. I was experimenting and disconnected the battery while running on battery and T kept running. T stopped running when I turned ligh...
