the hubs came without the brake drum
Just the hub with the studs installed
I didn't realize that they were splined until I pressed them out
If the brake drum had been installed I wouldn't have had the problem.
The brake drum holes are .6 so the hub would have been .6

I think that the ruckstell guys recommend hypoid gear oil if you have a Ruckstell rear end.
I don't think that grease would be a bad idea. Help keep the oil out of the outer bearing..

I had good luck removing Model A studs
using a low impact impact wrench.
Set it on its low setting and let it pound away for a bit.
I had bad results using a pipe wrench.

If like an aircraft propeller shaft the taper is slightly different between the hub and axle.
The contact is a small area at the hub end of the shaft. If further out on the axle you will end up with a broken axle.

Anything over 45mph in a model A with the standard rear end ratio will pound out the rod bearings.
I am speaking from my high school days experience.

I recently did my 15's 30 x 3 1/2 tires and used c clamps to break the bead and a Saw's All to cut them off.

You might want to anneal them.
Coat with soot using your oxy/acetylene torch with the torch adjusted acetylene rich.
Readjust the torch and burn the soot off.

I hauled my 28 model A a long distance covered with a cheap hardware store tarp and rubbed the paint off in spots on the fenders.

When you cotter pin a stud you turn it into an un safetied bolt.

For years I have used Aviation Permatex which comes in a can as a thick liquid.
It appears to be alcohol based as it cleans up with alcohol.
Never gets hard and seems to seal well.
I also use a silk thread between case halves on aircraft engines.

That is definitely a handy wrench. I have an old bent and beat up one that I have been using on my 15's wheels.
It works on the hub caps and the threaded bearings. Not sure what the orifices are good for?

annealing the area with an oxy/acetylene torch.
