Steve, I have a couple of rectangular black script units. Very hard to find. I love the Ford script. I use one on both of my Allen generator spin testers. Looks like a 1910 Jacobsen Brandow box. The switch is wrong for the box, but not a big deal.

Thanks so much Jeff for these much needed parts. This will make it easier for the purist to stay with generators. They (generators) have gotten ridiculously expensive to rebuild. George,
The coil you have is the vibrator for a master vibrator.
It has no secondary winding. It does not produce a spark.
It’s simply used to fire the coil that have their points shunted out.
It was used to smooth out the operation of 4 coils all firing differently.

Strobospark

Hello All,
I’m interested in buying a good strobospark for my shop.
If you have one that you’re willing to sell, please let me know.
I have three different testers in my shop depending on my customers needs and my Strobospark is pretty old.
Thanks for your time!

Re: Weak Starter Motor.

Check the terminal stud to be sure it’s not lose.
They are prone to breaking lose at the solder joint and creating a poor connection resulting in increased resistance and poor operation.
The old Babbitt bushing could also be the culprit as mentioned above.

Jim,
Ford offered the cutaway engines in the May 1923 Service bulletins. They were sold for $65.
I’m sure some dealerships constructed their own display motors. Perhaps using this photo as a guide.
Here’s the service bulletin page.
