Re: '23-5 top irons question

Larry, Your commentary presently posted will be printed and placed in the Original Smith folder which, after many years, is becoming quite full! Appreciate very much all you've lent to my project. At one time I faltered and offered this truck for sale. Glad no one took me up on it. Now with all thin...

Re: Wooden Firewall Protection

40 years of boat building with wood--epoxy techniques has taught me the necessity to thoroughly edge seal laminated wood materials. All other methods pale compared to epoxy encapsulation. Plasticized wood simply cannot absorb water. I have, on hand, gallons of System Three laminating epoxy. Chosen o...

Re: '23-5 top irons question

Thanks Larry for all the '25 PU info I've learned from you over time--especially the wood specs for the PU bed you sent me. Tearing down to bare frame, I failed to record the placement of the tail light bracket. How far left of center did you place yours? Also distance of bed setback from the rear s...

'23-5 top irons question

Making metal repairs on a set that suffered abuse. Presently, every piece presents a different angle between top and sides. Specs. (drawings) that have been posted indicate that the angle of each of the three parts, of a side, should be 90 degrees. Yet, pictures I see of installed tops suggest the a...

Secondary brace. Probably a wholly unneeded precaution.

Re: Suggestion for emergency brake extension.

Mark, Hopefully this one pic is fully explanatory. The pedal bracket is secured by two of the pan to hogshead bolts. To stabilize further, a following photo shows a brace to upper hogshead hardware to help arrest any forward leaning tendency of the pedal bracket when braking. The two under-pan shaft...

Re: Suggestion for emergency brake extension.

Since my post was about emergency brake extension maybe a more diagnostic pic would be an improvement before I move on to Mark's 4th pedal question.

Re: Removal of auto ad

Having just unloaded a pile of parts, at a marketplace without equal, and without cost, I feel shame in the fact that I let my membership lapse. Instead of making contributions to sell additional cars, I will reinstate membership. Thanks, MTFCA. Thanks, Admin's for keeping things rolling.

Removal of auto ad

An earlier thread suggests only Admin. can remove listings. On the advice of the experienced, I wish to remove my recent offering of '23 Low steel firewall touring touring. (Sorry, I failed to explain the special significance of the touring touring model) When the spring sun has warmed hearts and fo...

I couldn't think of a simpler approach to a sizable extension.

auto ad

When I pull up this category of classifieds I find no opportunity to place an ad. Having dropped my membership I made a $25 donation and was told my profile or whatever would be updated to allow placing an ad. Any suggestions?
