Yes no,and none of the above. The teams were largely kept for old times sake long before the 50"s with the advent of semi modern tractors in the 30"s.Often much like horses the steamers often had to sit while their boilers could make more steam to go on.There were steamers that burned straw for the p...

That picture shows not the need for any Ford but the number of horses to do that work.Horses eat hay or pasture and if they are worked a lot of grain! The cost of the barns, hay, grain, horses, harness, and man power sold many crawler tractors and while Ford built the Trackson i think it was much too smal...

The fresh grease installed with the hubcap/grease cup will force any water or dirt out of the hub. :D Bud.

Re: Greasing inside wheel bearings?

On the front remove the grease cup,[often called a hub cap] and add grease and re install.Do not fill but save room for the outage the spindle nut will cause. On the rear remove and fill the grease cups and fill with grease. The rears can be filled with no outage.Model T's are not all the same! :D Bud.

Re: Is a water pump necessary?

I think the question should be is needed or was needed. With the dirt, sand, mud roads of the times many thousands thought so.When the Model T replaced the horse it was to work instead of play. Now most experts who have flat tube cores and seldom run in the dirt, sand,or mud state they do not need one.Ye...

I think it is a well made beam clamp made for a industrial use? These may have been used on a moving conveyor to hold parts or containers of parts of more than one size and shape? Bud.

I really like the story about the man waiting 62 years to get that model A!! Not because he waited so long, but because he wanted one and evidently was not born into the old car ownership or given one!! He wanted one!!! :D Bud.

Re: How much grease do I need?

What is good for your semi modern car is great but it also has modern hub seals instead of felts. Most would never drive a expensive modern auto on gravel while the old T is expected to and [ford] rivers and creeks at the same time.Grease is cheap while bearings are not! Bud.

I hope you give this thing a long look before you start it! The chain for a front motor mount might not be very good? The way the saw arbor is centered on the engine is also not very good as you will have to angle your wood to get away from the engine and you do not wan't to pinch the saw. In my hop...
