Our trailer is 8/6X 18 ft so i have never had any trouble! The extra wide was also nice when hauling it behind the 5'th wheel to the OCF because it was easy to spot way back there!! I wonder if the OCF will ever come back?? Bud.

Re: You Get What You Pay For
I think usually the trouble with gas is the condition of the tanks at the station?? Up north in the winter you can have trouble but if you get bad gas it will show up quickly and you will know where you bought it!! Down south you can go until you hit freezing before you might spot poor quality fuel!...

Re: Bat or Mag start?
Because the mag is making current as ac the timer needs to be in the right place to mag start with the crank. I have two model T's i could not crank start on mag until i was tought how. Usually about 4 notches spark advance are needed to crank start on mag.

I like to retard the spark and count to five. 1 You never forget to retard the spark. 2 You get more free starts. 3 Nice if you have a stem winder. Bud.

What Stan said!! Thirty years ago i looked at a tractor a dealer had and was told it was rebuilt! I could see the oil pan had not been removed so i asked the shop foreman?? When asked he said it only had a valve job and the low side of the trans slipped!!

To me working from memory that looks like a corn husker to me? A road trip to Amish country would clear it up. That very well built hitch looks modern to me and if it was old time it must have been worth more than the old Fords that used it!! Bud.

Re: All-Purpose or Wheel Bearing Grease?
I too also pack my model T wheel bearings the old fashioned way. I take the grease cup's off and give each one 7 pumps with the grease gun using soft red grease. I jack the front end up and check how they feel. When turned back on the grease cups force the old grease out and the new in !Bud.

Re: Alternative fuel
Tax free has nothing to do with kero, gas, or fuel oil! If any of these were used on the farm or off road most taxes did/do not apply. On the farm sales tax in Mich does not apply. Some large farms will use on road or clear diesel for both trucks and tractors and get a refund on the portion used off...

Some of the other post are part right. There were tractors that also were made to run on kero. Those tractors had 3 tanks , one for starting gas, one for kero, and one for water to use when hot and pulling hard to prevent pre ignition with burning kero . Bud.

Re: Alternative fuel
Back in 61 or 62 we ran our F-20 on fuel oil once.Same carb ,same spark plugs and it ran well. Simple to do just follow instructions on the fuel tank .Start on gas and run until very warm, shut off gas and quickly turn on fuel. Stopping is just as important as you shut off fuel oil and run until it ...

Almost 60 years ago the kid on the next farm got a model A engine. He had nothing but the engine so we sat it on dirt and drove two old model T axels beside it. I had a black T radiator and we used old bicycle tubes for hoses! The engine sat firm and when running much over a fast idle the bottom hos...

If you read Tin Lizzie it gives a very good account of the New Ford that Henry wrecked!! In 1911 or 12 Edsel would have been very young, and his name was not mentioned in the story! The actual story say"s Henry wrecked the car with his hands and feet,no sledge hammer!! :D Please read Tin Lizzie by St...
