I skimmed through some of the replies but perhaps a longer term solution are hydraulic rear disk brakes? I have decided to add these to my Ruckstelled 26 Touring that has no aux brakes this spring. Brake Pedal For my 26 Touring
Next spring I am planning to install hydraulic rear brakes (please no debates here). I'd like to buy a brake pedal to have the tab welded on and keep my original pedal intact. I'm looking at this one. The shaft is shot but does the cam look worn to you? This will fit my 26 Touring, right? Thanks, Mike

My 26 Touring had this bracket on the frame with a hole so I mounted my cutoff and new bracket on it. Not sure if this bracket is original or not. Just wanted to warn Dennis on that clear glass fuel filter, you might want to use something else. I had one on my 68 Cougar and the O rings began to leak and caught my engine on fire. Luckily, I had a halon extinguisher handy and put it out. Just melted some wires. Swapped out that filter pronto.

Good idea. I had some that weren't quite long enough and had to make another order but I can't recall the details. I would have to run out to the garage and see if I can find the package label. My approach was to buy many different sizes and thread pitches and mix and match as needed.

Re: Wanted to Buy: 1926 Drag Link in Good Condition
Do you have a steering shaft with the 5:1 ratio or a correct pitman arm? My steering shaft has the top long pin hole a bit wallowed out.

Re: Centering Steering 1926 Touring
Well, the drag link measured at 30.25" so looks like I need to find the correct length drag link. Although it's nearly an inch too short, I'm wondering if that would make my wheels that far off. Anyway, drag link is wrong and gotta be swapped. Going to replace the ball at the tie rod while I'm at it...

Re: Centering Steering 1926 Touring
Pin is centered and the arm is in fact vertical. Sighhhhhhhhhh! Glad I caught this before I drove it. Thanks all...now to find the right drag link. Mike After reading the info from the link....not so fast. Going to have to measure some parts under the T first. Have to try to get to it this weekend ...

Centering Steering 1926 Touring
I decided to poke around my steering gears to check lube (or lack thereof) and see if I can find why my steering wheel wobbles. Steering is tight left and right with very little play but the wheel wobbles on on it's shaft. I found the gears in OK condition and the shaft to cover seems to be the issu...

Re: Thoughts: 1926 Ford Optional Bumpers
Decisions, decisions....this one's a hard one. It helps that they are a Ford option for my year, frame is pre drilled. Also helps that I have the nickel hardware already (rims, caps and radiator shell) for that one Ford trim option to include the bumpers.

"By the way, I used to live in Greenwood, Rogers and Fayetteville. Graduated UofA with a BSEE. Go Hogs!" If you ever get back here to God's Country, look me up. We'll kick some tires or something. I'm in Fayetteville. Will do! Many years ago, I used to work as a waiter at Jose's.....back in the mid...

Re: Thoughts: 1926 Ford Optional Bumpers
I haven't had a T with bumpers and don't want any. When I work on other folks' cars which have them, they certainly are in the way! :( That was another concern of mine. I just dropped a wad of cash for a nice Berg's radiator and am thinking bumpers are a good idea as I learn to drive the T. Since I...

Re: Thoughts: 1926 Ford Optional Bumpers
We have full length bumpers front and rear on our '26 Touring car that came with the car. Its a "Sport Touring Car" which at the time was Ford's way of gussying them up, bumpers, nickel radiator shroud, etc. The front doesn't interfere with cranking, and the rear doesn't interfere with accessing th...

WTB: Good Patina-ed Nickel-plated Original Wire Wheel Hub Caps
Hello all,
Looking for four patina-ed nickel-plated original wire wheel hub caps.
I'll buy one or all four in multiple or a single sales until I get a full set. I may even buy a spare in case I lose one. I've located one so far and have four more to go.
Thanks,
Mike

Thoughts: 1926 Ford Optional Bumpers
Kicking around adding bumpers on my 1926 Touring. What are your thoughts? Pros? Cons? Split rears or one-piece? My initial thoughts are they would be good to prevent damage, obviously....the big reason for bumpers, right? The con is the added length and weight. Also they might be in the way to hand ...

I just put in brand new 2 AWG and cleaned up the area where the ground goes to the frame on my 26 Touring. Works fine for me so far.

First Post: Hello and Ideas to Repair Headlight Rim Pins on a 1926
Hello all, I bought a 1926 Touring last fall and have been working on it ever since. I've been working on Fords for nearly 40 years and own 9 cars and a 1952 Farmall H so am constantly working on something in the garage. For now at least, the T is staying somewhat in it's "patina-ed" look as I fix m...
