I’ve got this on my TT. I’ve been told not to mess with it as it could go into freewheel and is almost impossible to lock again without key! I don’t mess.

Memories

Yesterday I set up the TT to sell produce off the back. Almost immediately an older fellow was looking at it with wistfulness almost tears. I began a conversation with him and found the source of his emotions was a vision of his grandfather selling “produce on one side and fruits on the other” off o...

I got the light apart and after some half hour of persuasion, freed the thimble from its time glue. It took another twenty minutes to release the crushed terminal. Shined up the silver parabola and put it back together. The lights work again! Ordered new thimbles and retaining spring for a rainy day...

Thank you Tom! Last night we took off the shift lock and cleaned up all the parts, reassembled with grease and voila, It shifted from low ruckstell to high just fine. Probably hadn’t been looked at in fifty years! Parts were seized, rusty, and in need of care. A little TLC and it shifts again. I mus...

Re: Wearing straw hats

I generally wear an Amish style light straw hat in the sun and while driving my TT. I will be getting some of those clips as I increase my speeds. (Rocky mountain brakes will be added soon). My favorite straw hats were hand made by an Amish lady named Emmy Lapp in Myersville Pa. She measured my head...

My truck has been out of commission for a month now. :( Seems the belt kept coming off. Turns out that the bottom pulley was loose and with the help of Tom Pilz and an extra one he had at his place, we got the TT ready for a test. Trouble is that I had taken the radiator to a shop to have some crack...

I was thinking of putting a rare earth magnet on the transmission cover to grab metal fillings etc. I’m thinking the metal would adhere to the plate/cover and could be easily wiped and cleaned. As the seller of my new TT. He used a lot of starting fluid. I’ve always heard that starting fluid is not good for use in the engines because it dries out the cylinder walls and can Score them.
