I have one of each also. However, no hole. Therefore, no clue which one is proper. Just saying! I guess it’s normal not knowing.
Why would you have one shorter than the other if they are both for the same car. Doesn’t make sense!

FYI, if this is where you’re going to park your car. Do yourself a favor and obtain a large tray and place it under engine. Not ment to be an insult rather a reality. Model “T” tend to loose oil. Your floor looks unblemished.

The timer Dan posted is the one I want to build new internals.
Dan: I was thinking I could use a 3” pipe and mill segments out of it. However, my timer case is at different location. The radius I could (pipe) use could be 2-1/2” or whatever. I don’t have the old segments handy.

spare tire carrier year of service
The tall base has Ford script with PN T 7316 A1.
The small one is not Ford, however, has the same part number barely legible of PN T 7316 A1.
Same part number different height? What do these go to? What gives?
Thanks,
John.

Engine grounding
Was viewing thread in vehicles for sale. A green 26/27 coupe. It has a starting problem. Someone stated might be grounding issue. Another says why 26/27 they have a ground from engine to frame. My question would be where is this ground?

Re: Rounded and nickel plated bolts dated?
I have what I believe is an August of 1926 vehicle. It had remanence of nickel on a couple of head bolts. However, no indication of nickel on water in/outlet. Has studs in block. Just trying to figure it out as I go along. As Johnny 5 says ,"need input"!
Thank you,
John.

Re: Rounded and nickel plated bolts dated?
Dan, regarding the July 26, 1926 letter. Do you think this is the start date or it may have taken some time to inact this switch of policy?

Re: Rounded and nickel plated bolts dated?
The vaporizer carb started July 19, 1926 and I also read "late" 1926 for the bolts. Just trying to pin point it further.

Plug weld! Simple solution. Heating spoke, good trick!
Could one fuze the spoke on the outside (tig weld w/o rod)?
