Re: Advice or opinion

Thanks to all, got things more evened up and aligned today. As an aside and a possible tip, I cut some conduit to use as a spacer to hold the pedals up solid against the cams. Made it a little easier to heat and bend the pedals to their final resting place.

Re: Advice or opinion

I have done the O ring reaming, but purchased new pedal cams. Was going to try to maybe build up the pedal cams to eliminate slop, but reticent to try to machine/grind down the two surfaces to keep them evenly contacting the hogshead cams.....
Thanks!

Re: Advice or opinion

That’s a great picture. I’m assuming when you say welding up pedal supports, you are welding/building up the 2 cam surfaces and not actually welding the cams to the hogshead!?

Advice or opinion

Setting up the pedals on my 27 hogshead with new cams and looking at pedal alignment. Have Rocky brakes with a homemade pedal (crafted looking at an original, using a wide pedal head). SO, I know I can heat and bend pedals where I want them, but this is bending against the main spine of the pedals. ...

So are the short slotted ones standard before 26? It does look like they would be a bear to safety wire depending on where the holes ended up...but then again, not sitting up proud of the drum might be a plus if a band gave out or slipped over?

Nothing has worked yet, still have only about .007 thrust/spacer clearance between the brake drum inner face and the clutch pack drum. Is it OK to substitute a .025 spacer under the clutch drum to pick up .017 or should I just find a machine shop to mill .010 or so off?

26 roadster cab wood

Found these 2 pieces of wood in my roadster project and wondered if my location is correct where I have them pictured and what they were for? Are they screwed/bolted to the cowl frame where I’m holding them? One of them appears to have a bracket left on it... [image] CBA0C7B7-00BC-40E3-B3DE-966090D6...

Re: 26-27 Roadster wood

Isn’t there a small piece in the door hinge pillar as well? What does this piece do?,a stiffener?, a trim attachment piece?

I agree completely with Russ, I also believe that most enthusiast forums are made up mostly of folks who share things without remuneration.

26-27 Roadster wood

Anyone have a set of Leon Parker’s wood plan sets lying around? There is NO old wood in my current project, I know the body mounting wood is available, but I also know there’s wood in and around the door frames, seats and so on...I’m bookmarking every forum post I can find with at least a picture or...

Re: 26 Roadster Pickup project question

I slapped a thread gauge on them, then held them against some 5/16-18, and they matched both beautifully...a 20 nut won’t go on them...

26 Roadster Pickup project question

Finally putting together the 20 year old 26 RPU project....couple of questions, for now... Are the door hinge screws really 1/4-18? I saved the old ones but am probably 1 or 2 short, so....cheat and move a couple up to 5/16-18? Pulled everything apart and blasted it, patch paneled and primed it and ...

Re: T auction today

I had a great time! Picked up two pretty nice 26 Roadster rear fenders and a passenger side front as well as some other odds and ends I needed. Happy with the price, products and the process. The auctioneer was pretty funny and met some good guys in the assembled group. Great job by Kenny keeping th...

Need wood plans, 26-27 Roadster

Yup, I know there ain’t much there, but just found out Leon Parker is not going to be selling plans anymore because of serious illness. If anyone has a set still around from a restoration project, I’d love to cut/fabricate my own if they are scannable and can maybe be emailed as an attachment as mea...

Re: Model T Auction September 2, 2019

Just got back from this auction. It was a hoot and I’ve never seen so much T stuff so well organized and collected. I went to get some very specific things and got everything I wanted, was very happy with the quality I got, and very happy with the price. But I’ll tell ya, it was a LONG day....booken...

Re: Interior wood needed.

Not to dismiss your need, but there isn't much wood to replace, and is simple enough that I'd think you could find someone with a table saw and a band saw and make everything in a day and then alter in place. http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/331880/332662.html?1357364469 Not feeling dismissed, ...

Re: Interior wood needed. Leon Parker

I just received a return of my payment to Mr Parker for a set of 26-27 Roadster wood plans. It was accompanied by a note from his wife that he is suffering from cancer and will no longer be sending out his wood plans. Prayers all around for him! It sounds like we have lost a great knowledge resource...

Amen to that! I'm driving up from TX to go, mainly just to see the volume of stuff but I have a few things I need for my roadster PU project I'd like to find....here's to those crumbs left!
