Re: 26-27 Roadster wood

Perfect! I can’t thank you enough! The pictures are great. I thought that was how the seat bottom board went in, but now know it still needs some fitting to sit within the seat frame and on the subframe. Looks like your touring has some patch repairs as well, mine are extensive and the bucket of rus...

Re: 26-27 Roadster wood

I might have answered one of my questions by finding THIS picture of a wood vendors offering. I see it shows a “seat upper” board marked. It also helpfully shows predrilled holes so I can maybe discern fastening locations. Still need to see/find out where the “seat bottom board” and “seat side” boar...

Re: 26-27 Roadster wood

Revisiting this as my Fordwood just came in. Thanks Dan! Your last picture is a big help showing the seat back ledge that the wood crossmember sits on for the vertical slats to fasten to! Is there another horizontal piece at the top that the slats fasten to, or do they just bolt/screw into the top r...

Thanks to all again, my cab wood from fordwood is on its way, and the seat pan and seat back are in after only 15-20 tries for fitting! Yikes!

Re: 26 Roadster cab/seat help

Thanks a bunch guys! I’ll attach the seat bracket to my replacement seat pan for an additional attachment point and to stiffen it up. I’ll also cobble up some wood pieces to stiffen the jamb and give me a tack board. The pictures also show me that the bracket has the same flat head screws holding th...

Re: 26 Roadster cab/seat help

Big time! There IS some wood behind that pillar since those look like tacks holding that trim panel on. And I reckon the metal strips in the pictures above could possibly be a support piece for that trim panel to not be pushed in. Any idea what the hole above the door latch is for, looks like a grom...

Re: 26 Roadster cab/seat help

After some extensive forum searches, I came up with some more photos of naked roadster interiors... These two interiors have just a metal strip in the cab side, although the second one has a wood block AT and IN the seat frame: [image] 450F1F4D-6316-42FB-82EC-480FDBCEC31E.jpeg [/image] [image] AEE50...

Re: 26 Roadster cab/seat help

Thanks Bill! Can you tell me what all the holes up and down the cab door jamb are for? Is there any trim wood in that jamb or around the seat frame...i.e. more structure that the side panels might attach to? I think I’ve seen pictures of like 2” metal strips running from the jamb to the seat back pa...

26 Roadster cab/seat help

I’m putting together a RPU just about from pieces, and some were not together when I started so I don’t have “taking apart” pictures to refer to. I’ve patch paneled cab sides and cowl bottom edges and am now trying to cobble it together with original and Howells replacement pieces. Looked all over t...

Found these 2 pieces of wood in my roadster project and wondered if my location is correct where I have them pictured and what they were for? Are they screwed/bolted to the cowl frame where I’m holding them? One of them appears to have a bracket left on it... [image] CBA0C7B7-00BC-40E3-B3DE-966090D6...

26 Roadster Pickup project question

Finally putting together the 20 year old 26 RPU project....couple of questions, for now... Are the door hinge screws really 1/4-18? I saved the old ones but am probably 1 or 2 short, so....cheat and move a couple up to 5/16-18? Pulled everything apart and blasted it, patch paneled and primed it and ...

Not to dismiss your need, but there isn't much wood to replace, and is simple enough that I'd think you could find someone with a table saw and a band saw and make everything in a day and then alter in place. http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/331880/332662.html?1357364469 Not feeling dismissed, ...
