I use a 250,000 btu Modine propane heater and wood. I use the propane heater to take the edge off in the morning then wood. I use a mobile home size propane unit to keep my machine shop at 40* which is a good working temp. The coldest I've seen in the shop is +2*, that was a bit to cold to work in.

After years of needing and wanting a car lift I finally found a used one and got it going last week. This is the first T I lifted with it, I'm getting ready to put a set of RM brakes on my Speedster. Happy camper for sure.

I'm running the set up Scott mentions. 10 tooth with a KC Warford and a built motor in a 27 Tudor. It is a great set up here in the mountains of Montana and Idaho. I never have to use low pedal unless I creeping over rocks on a logging road.

I put a Prus head on a motor with 80 over pistons and had plenty of contact with a test fit and no head gasket. I used a bur on the head and got clearance. Every hole needed work. 80 over is tight with a HC head.

One of our favorite day trips is up to Troy, MT on the Bull River Hwy, MT 56. In this picture we are crossing the Kootenay River at Troy. We usually go over to Kootenay Falls just up stream and walk across the swinging bridge.

I take my T's out all winter but I wait for the roads to freeze tight. No salt on the county roads. It's usually in the 20's when I drive so it's pretty nice.

Used the old 25 TT to haul the drive chain off the excavator back to the shop to repair a broken link. That chain weighs a couple hundred pounds.

This is how I got the screw out of my trans. The bore scope plugs into the computer USB port. I could not get an angle to grab the screw except through that screw hole. A magnet couldn't get it.

Scott, they were stock cotton linings that were old and came apart. It was my first T so lack of experience and an unknown road added up. That road was like driving off a ball, it just kept getting steeper.

I lost the brakes in my Roadster on a very steep mountain road over in Idaho and the last thing I wanted was seat belts. I wanted ejection seats!

Another way is to drag and drop a photo right into your message box. Just open a folder with your pictures in a minimized window and then just drag it over and drop it in the message box you are typing in. Works slick.

Finished up the August overhaul on the 23 Speedster and took it for a run. I kind of miss all the knocking it did. Well maybe not. This little speedster runs right along.

I have one on my Tudor like you describe, but I have a distributor. I use it for top end driving. I run 48 to 50 pretty regular. I have an overdrive Warford and like to keep an eye on the RPM. Don't know that they will work with coils.

Finished cleaning up the valve seats and ground the valves. Got the bend in the crank to .0005". Waiting for gaskets and paint.

My new speedster had some bad noises so I pulled it down. The odd measurement in the clutch turned out to be the retaining bolt left and everything moved back running on the 4th main. The center main and two rods were very loose. The front cam bearing was bad. Looked like it was new but the locating...

We do a lot of day trips around our area, lots to see and little traffic. One of our favorites is the Bull River Hwy, MT Hwy 56. It runs up between the Cabinet Mountains and the West Cabinets for about 35 miles with Bull River running down the middle.

Got the motor apart today and found the clutch disc drum retaining bolt came out which allowed the clutch to move to the rear. The new speedster has to many things to fix and adjust so I pulled the motor which will make them all much easier to fix. Going to adjust all the bearings, see what's up with the cam end play, re-line the bands and see if I have two piece valves. I'm also adding a outside oiler. Who knows what else ...

The manifold was an unfinished casting that I picked up on ebay. I had to make the carb adapter and the finish work on the manifold.

There is a guy in L. A. that makes kits for the SR, good quality. I ran a fuel pump and a regulator on my SR. My reading indicates a gravity float and needle and a pressure float and needle. I set the reg. at 1.5 psi. My SR has an accelerator pump and it works good. I get good mpg and it will idle g...

Our club just finished a 300 mile ghost town tour in the mountains here in Montana. About half of the miles was on dirt. Some of the grades were extremely steep. Amazing what the old T can do. Definitely period correct roads.

We go down to the river on nights we expect red sunsets. On this evening the smoke was real heavy as the whole region was burning on this year. Makes for great picture taking.

Look on ebay, search for electric fuel pumps. They run between $15 to $50. The USA pumps are higher. Come in 6v or 12v. Check the description for low pressure pumps. I'm running a low pressure cube pump and also use a pressure regulator to feed my Winfield carb. As mentioned, aux. brakes are a must ...

I used this thread repair on my last problem. I like them better than Helicoils. One caution, one experienced guy on here has said to be careful as some thread holes are close to the water jacket. Ez-Lok from McMaster Car.

Tony, yes this motor has a Bosch front plate distributor. So I did remove the magnets and put on slingers. At least when they come off the damage is minimal.

I found two magnets broken on my last motor. I could see the break from the metal fuzz collected along the edges of the break. They stood out pretty clear.

I'm running a KC Warford with a 4.1 diff. in my 27 Tudor. It is a great combo for running in the mountains of Montana and Idaho. We do a lot of logging road over the mountain type driving and the gearing is just right for both off or on highway. The KC is pretty quiet also.

I followed this advice on my last three motors. The new adjustable lifters had a tit in the face of every lifter and the bolt head were not flat or square. I ground the surfaces in my Black & Decker valve machine and as Herm says they stayed in adjustment and the cam lobe looks real good. BTW, they ...

I rebuilt a motor last year with iron pistons that had been drilled with six holes around the lower ring groove. In asking about this I was told that period racers did this.
