Re: Post Your 4th T Pictures

I really like the action shots and just found out how to grab a still off of a video. This is this years parade as we just circled the building supply and met the tail end float as we started the second pass. Quite a commotion with cars critters and floats.

Also found the low drum is cracked. the reverse band liner is falling apart with lint and fiber everywhere and #3&4 rods are loose. Mains this afternoon. Also has a fiber ca...

Re: What have you done to your Model T in July?

The new speedster has to many things to fix and adjust so I pulled the motor which will make them all much easier to fix. Going to adjust all the bearings, see what's up with the cam end play, re-line the bands and see if I have two piece valves. I'm also adding a outside oiler. Who knows what else ...

Working to find a knock in the new speedster. It has quite the fan, one piece aluminum. Also, any idea who made this distributor drive?

Re: Winfield SR vs Zenith S4BF

The manifold was an unfinished casting that I picked up on ebay. I had to make the carb adapter and the finish work on the manifold.

Re: Winfield SR vs Zenith S4BF

There is a guy in L. A. that makes kits for the SR, good quality. I ran a fuel pump and a regulator on my SR. My reading indicates a gravity float and needle and a pressure float and needle. I set the reg. at 1.5 psi. My SR has an accelerator pump and it works good. I get good mpg and it will idle g...

Re: What did you do with your model T in June

Our club just finished a 300 mile ghost town tour in the mountains here in Montana. About half of the miles was on dirt. Some of the grades were extremely steep. Amazing what the old T can do. Definitely period correct roads.

Joan likes to hang out the window and get the front of the T in the shot but as you look deeper into the photo other things catch the eye.

We go down to the river on nights we expect red sunsets. On this evening the smoke was real heavy as the whole region was burning on this year. Makes for great picture taking.

Re: Fuel pump

Look on ebay, search for electric fuel pumps. They run between $15 to $50. The USA pumps are higher. Come in 6v or 12v. Check the description for low pressure pumps. I'm running a low pressure cube pump and also use a pressure regulator to feed my Winfield carb. As mentioned, aux. brakes are a must ...

I used this thread repair on my last problem. I like them better than Helicoils. One caution, one experienced guy on here has said to be careful as some thread holes are close to the water jacket. Ez-Lok from McMaster Car.

Tony, yes this motor has a Bosch front plate distributor. So I did remove the magnets and put on slingers. At least when they come off the damage is minimal.

Re: Magneto Magnet Questions

I found two magnets broken on my last motor. I could see the break from the metal fuzz collected along the edges of the break. They stood out pretty clear.
