Re: Heater?
I have an Arvin heater on my car. There is a casing that wraps around the exhaust pipe with a pipe and funnel system extended up to the front of the car behind the radiator. It works...kind of. The car is a Tudor, so maybe there is just too much air space to heat. The passenger stays warm from the f...

Re: Has anyone ever driven their T across the Mighty Mac?
Sure have! In October 2018 we took our 1926 Tudor over it. We stayed in Mackinaw City and rented a cabin on the shore of Lake Huron at Mill Creek Campground. We got up early and crossed the bridge on a Saturday morning and headed to Cedarville, then De Tour Village on the eastern tip of the UP. We t...

Re: Challenges with LED headlights
I use the bottom style, which I purchased from Snyders. Great lights! I have not experienced dimness in one bulb over the other, but I do get flickering intermittently from the passenger side bulb. My car has new wiring and new headlight reflectors. No flickering with the old style bulbs. I'm starti...

Re: Tire chains?
I use tire chains on my 26's 21 inch tires. I found them on ebay by searching for Model A tire chains. I think I paid $75.00. I'm fortunate to live on miles on gravel roads, so I can drive the T regularly in the Northern Michigan winters without road salt being an issue. It pulls right along with th...

Re: Autction south of Marion Mich.
Hi Jim! That was my T parked along the road. I couldn't find any exciting T things, lots of A stuff though. I ended up leaving empty handed after a couple of hours. I was waiting to bid on a tool box with a couple of rear axle bearings and miscellaneous T stuff, but it was taking forever to get ther...

Triple Gear Rocking
Hello! As I am attempting to fish out a washer from the transmission I found one of my triple gears has a pretty significant rock on the pin. The other two gears feel good. The transmission was rebuilt about 10 years ago (per previous owner) and runs pretty quiet. I had no idea that there was this i...

Thanks everyone! NAPA should have one of those flexible magnets (like Craig posted) for me tomorrow. Hopefully between that and wire I won't need a camera...but time will tell.

Re: Well that escalated quickly
Bahahaa, I thought about that Vern! I was also thinking about flushing some kerosene down through...but when I was fishing I just heard a click in the pan. I can now feel the washer through the oil drain hole! Yay! Now how do I get it out from there? Can I fish through the starter hole? Try to lift ...

More of a vent session here... I dropped a washer into the transmission. Today was my day to install RM brakes on my 26 Tudor after buying them 6 months ago. I opened the transmission to pull the old brake pedal (the stock pedal had a tab welded to it for a different brake system) and put in a RMB p...

Re: Was there any part unchanged during manufacturing?
Good stuff guys! I was thinking about the hyatts, but totally stalled out on the valves or ring gear. In regards to Wayne's question on defining change and parts: To define change I'll give an example. If I were to go to a swap meet and hold two parts what is the longest time-frame between those par...

Was there any part unchanged during manufacturing?
Random question. Was there any part of the Model T which was unchanged in design/material and therefore indistinguishably different through 1909 and 1927? I assume no. So, then that leads to my next question. What was the longest period of time that a part was manufactured unchanged and what part wa...

Re: Besides your T, what other Ford would you wish to own?
Well, my first car in high school was a red and rusty 1992 two door Ford Tempo....soooo I would sweep that up quickly. However I would gladly settle for a 65 Mustang convertible instead.

Noisy Generator Gear... I think....
Hey Guys! So for 3 years I've lived with a ting ting ting ting ting coming from the front of the engine. The noise has continued after a recent Texas T Distributor removal and E timer installation. I used to blame it on the distributor bouncing around up front, but alas that is not it. Took the fan ...

Thank you Dhort. My nursing career is now 12 days on, 2 days off. This virus is no joke and I will follow science before politics or media. When our old cars were new, death and suffering were at home or small hospitals. It was in your face and not hidden. You saw people (adults and children) suffer...

Also, if your son wants a Texas T (still VW) dizzy to try let me know. It even has an electronic ignition. He can have it, as long as he doesn't sell it. If he doesn't want it, just pass it on.

Re: New T Help Needed
I too have a 26 Tudor (and live in Michigan but that is not really relevant, but a fun fact nonetheless). When I got my Tudor 3 years ago it had a dizzy and a rebuilt motor. The mag was not reinstalled during the rebuild. Two weeks ago I removed the dizzy and went back to (rebuilt coils) and timer. ...

Re: COVID restriction and your Model T
In Michigan we are still allowed to recreate while social distancing. Today I took the T to the bike trail, because I had to get there somehow. I'm also a nurse, so my T has become my daily driver...70 miles round trip. I figure if I have to report, it's the perfect excuse to do so in style!

Re: Michigan UP Tour Idea
A couple years ago we did a solo trip to the UP in our 1926 Tudor the end of October. We rented a cabin in Mackinaw City and drove across the Mackinaw Bidge (for those not familiar with MI, this is the bridge that connects our state's two peninsulas). We drove over to Detour Village and then crossed...

Re: BRAKE EQUALIZER
I put one on my 26 Tudor this spring and have been very satisfied with it. It took a while to get the equalizer set up to apply the brakes in conjunction with the transmission brake, but nothing too bad. I also have good linings on my brakes ( replaced those a year ago). In full disclosure I've only...

Re: Tire chains on my Roadster
I paid $40 for my good usable set of tires chains for 21 inch balloon tires. They were in the original canvas bags.... which certainly weren't display pieces! However, the chains work great!
