Re: Suggestions: moving a car with no engine.

Do you have another oil pan ? You can bolt up your torque tube and wish bone. That’s what I did it worked out great for moving the T around.

The T that I bought came to me with a 8 volt battery. The car sat for approximately 10 years. During the start up to getting it back to a safe drivable T again. I want to convert it back to a 6v system. I have a John Regan 8 volt voltage regulator # 5055R-8V It does have a letter A on the bottom. I...

Thanks to everyone for answering my curiously. The tank pads are in place. I just thought it odd for Henry to leave those studs long seeing that he was squeezing every nickel

27 gas tank straps

349A129B-667C-41FC-9CE7-093747734860.jpeg I was just curious? The gas tank strap studs that stick through the firewall are long. Is that left long for a reason? I’ve never replace a 27 tank before. Do you need that length for installing or removing the thank? I’m thinking about cutting it back. Sho...

Re: 27 fan pulley

John, did you install the felt seal and cup washer? If not that would account for about 3/16" play. Yes I did. But I think you should be able see it. I didn’t look with a flashlight yet, should you be able to see cup washer? Later lm going to check the adjustment nut just to make sure it didn’t loo...

Re: 27 fan pulley

Before you take it off. Have you tried tightening the thru bolt first? Also look at your fan belt, is one edge more worn then the other indicating something is out of alignment. Could be that if the belt is too tight it is pulling the pulley in one direction wearing the bushing flange faster then i...

27 fan pulley

The fan pulley has about 3/16th in and out play on it. I just rebuilt it last winter with all new and fitted parts. I would like to remove it to find out what’s going on. Can I sneak the pulley by the radiator without removing the return neck? Or do I have to drain the antifreeze and remove everythi...

Grandpa’s coil tester

https://patents.google.com/patent/US1636968 My sister in-law lives in her grandparents home. She was digging around the basement and came across a receipt from a attorney for $25.00 for a patient on a coil tester. So she googled it and this is what she came up with. I never met him but I was told by...

Did something change in the logon cookie properties in the last week? Was the expiration shortened? Can it be lengthened? I used to stay logged in for days, or at least didn't have to re-log-on when I came back to the 2019 forum. But starting this weekend, or maybe Monday, every time I'm off the fo...

Re: 26-27 Brakes

I just finished replacing the brake shoes on the 27 and they did have some drag in them. What I did was set the emergency brake tight and let it sit overnight and I did reduce the drag quite a bit. Once I get some miles on them I think they will seat in. So try that.

Re: 1926 brake shoe

Lang's sells a brake riveting tool. https://www.modeltford.com/item/2566RVTL.aspx This tool includes a counter sink so that the expanded end of the tube rivets sit below the lining. I used this set up on my linings and it works great. Trick is to not countersink too deep. Perhaps using a drill pres...
