Re: Duncan Swap Meet 2025

Having only been to Chickasha the last 4 years, I didn't know what to expect. This year I was not able to get off work Thursday/Friday like I did at Chickasha previously, and those of you that remember, Chickasha was usually a ghost town by Saturday. At Duncan going Saturday only (opening till noon)...

Vintage trailers and hitches T & TT

So I found this homemade 1 horse stock trailer earlier this year. Looking at fabricating a hitch for my model TT in order to pull it. I have a life sized fiberglass horse that will fit perfect in it! 😎 Does anyone out there have trailer hitches on their TT's and if so, any pictures? I've seen a few ...

Re: TT Wood Bed Rebuild

If I could "preserve it and use it as is" believe me I would much rather do that so it would match the cab. There's no substitute for 100 years of patina! Unfortunately a majority of the wood has rot to the point the bed is structurally unsound. Some pieces could possibly be salvaged and reused else...

TT Wood Bed Rebuild

As I begin this project I figured I would start a thread to document my progress. Over the last two years I have been searching for a bed for my 1918 TT, or at least the missing metal parts to recreate something similar to the original. This truck has a very well preserved wood cab built by an unkno...

Re: Pate

I went last year. Found a few T related items I could use, including a 1917 Texas plate, and saw a T for sale. Was only able to walk thru half of it, left for work an hour early so I could stop and check it out. Decatur I didn't see much T stuff this past year, which is too bad because that one is j...

Re: Show me your TT beds!

Some good looking beds out there! So many ideas. If you built your bed where did you find the hardware for it? Did you have to find originals and repaint them, make your own, or does somebody sell reproduction hardware? Also how did you attach your bed to your frame? I can see from the sides most ha...

Show me your TT beds!

So I finally got my 1918 TT running! Next step is to build a bed for it. I need some ideas. Mine has an original wood cab in good condition, and came with a set of fenders. My initial idea is to build a wooden homebrew flat bed/stake bed for everyday use here on the farm, haul hay, feed horses and c...

Re: Bent steering rod?

Thanks for the tips. Took a torch to it and got it straightened out (mostly). Couldn't get it to budge cold in the vice. It now clears the radius rod. Everything else under there looks ok, I don't see any other parts with obvious damage or looseness. Maybe it was something the previous owner "improv...

I'll give it a try in the vice. Hopefully I don't break it! 😂

Re: Bent steering rod?

Ok, so if I can't get this drag link bent back straight, any recommendations where I might find a replacement? Anybody with spares lying around they might sell? Thanks

Bent steering rod?

As I was underneath the 1918 TT greasing the joints, I noticed my steering gear connecting rod is rubbing against the radius rod. Are these supposed to be bent or straight? It appears to be 31inches long. Thanks

Re: ID this accessory?

Ok, yeah that makes sense! One more mystery solved! Thank you! Now onto the next mystery... This is on the exhaust just before the muffler. Maybe an exhaust horn of some kind? I don't have the truck running yet so I can't test it out. Controlled by a foot switch in the floor. It has something writte...

ID this accessory?

This bracket is mounted on the drivers side firewall of the wood cab on my TT. Has anyone seen this before or know what it may have held? This truck does have evidence of fire department markings on the hood. Could this have held some piece of firefighting equipment? Or maybe something commercial or...

Re: TT Year Identification Help

So it's pretty safe to say, the majority of this truck is somewhere in the 1919 to mid 1920 range? And that the block may have been replaced sometime after 1922? Dallas Landers that's cool! If you're curious about what county your plate is from I found the information on county codes in a Wikipedia ...

Re: TT Year Identification Help

Wow, wouldn't it be cool though if it was one of the five or seven!? Probably no way to confirm it, wishful thinking. Dallas Landers thanks for the info on the Martin Parry cabs. I've been looking through some of the catalogs but haven't found an exact match yet. I did find an interesting view of th...

Re: TT Year Identification Help

I might be able to narrow it down further by seeing what year those "W" towns started their fire departments. I know with the dept I'm on here in Paradise, TX it wasn't organized until 1959, even though the town was founded in 1876

Re: TT Year Identification Help

Thanks for the replies. I haven't found any makers numbers on the cab yet. The wood looks to be in good shape, no rotting anywhere. When I removed it from the firewall I found the original paint, black with gold strips. The engine does not have a starter, but it looks like there might be a cover pla...

TT Year Identification Help

New model TT owner here. Picked it up from someone who knew just as much as I did about it, which isn't much. It was advertised as a 1912 Ford T, but after reading here TT's weren't made until 1917 I'm unsure of what year it is. I verified it's a TT instead of a T by the longer wheel base and rear a...
