Re: WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH YOUR MODEL T IN JUNE

I had to do some business at the Post Office and the bank. I took Lizzie [1926 touring] to go the five miles to town, and she didn't want to start. After coaching her she finally started. I found out why she didn't want to go, the clouds came up and started to drizzle, but she ran real good all the ...

Re: Air Cleaner

I asked an old mechanic how often did you have to overhaul Model T and A engines since they didn't have air cleaners. He told me pretty darn often, so that's why I have air cleaners on both my T and A.

Re: What have you done with your T in May

Finally the rain has stopped long enough and everything dried out so I could get Lizzy out and change her oil and greased her bearings and oil the spindles and tie rods. I also had a hit your forehead with your palm moment, I tried to start her but she wouldn't start up, gas turn the gas on then she...

Allen my dad also told me not to back up a vehicle in a wheat field so the straw wouldn't collect on the exhaust and cause a fire, and some of us still have gas pickups. The diesels are to noisy anyway.

If I droved a car in the middle of the wheat field like that my dad would have killed me.

Re: What is your favorite part of a Model T Ford?

I like how simple they are to repair. About a year ago I started my 2015 F-150 when I backed out of the garage a cat ran out from under the pickup. The cat threw off the fan belt, I looked and there is not a way to put it back on the pulleys, no way to loosen the alternator, or a spring loaded idler...

Re: Where did you discover your Model T?

I met Lizabet, my 1926 touring at Chickasha eleven years ago. My son, David, and I heard about the prewar swap meet and decided to go to see what it's all about. When we entered we seen this Model T on a trailer, but no one was around so we wandered around looking at the cars and parts. When we was ...

Re: New Day Timer Question

When I put a New Day on my 26 touring it was doing the Hula when the engine was running. I tried to bend the arm that holds the timer, but it didn't want to bend. So I ordered two brass shields, cut out the middle for the seal. The two brass shields was enough to bring out the New Day so the brush h...

Re: Did Henry Ford ever own a Model T?

A few years ago at the Chickasha swap meet, not the prewar one, there was a Model T Centerdoor a guy was selling that he claimed it one time belong to Henry Ford. He had the serial number check and it suppose to match the one Henry owned. He had one of the Grandson signed one of the spiders on the s...

Re: What name have you given your T

My 26 touring name is Lizzy, short for Lizzabeth T Ford. My 31 A pickup is named Glen for the previous owner. And my 47 CJ2A Willys Jeep is named Teddy, short for Theodore Roosevelt because he is a Rough Rider. And Lizzy's middle name so far is Terrific and not Trouble.
