Re: Speedster Build

Looks like you’ve lost a bit of sleep over this project. You should have plenty of braking potential with those rotors, and am curious to see what caliper you choose. Keep in mind that spacing the rear wheels out increases the torsional load on the rear axles... think safety hubs! Kevin, the rotors...

Re: Speedster Build

Was able to spend some more time on the rear disc brakes. Spacing is now good and next step is to make a bracket to mount the caliper.

Re: Speedster Build

I decided that I wanted rear disc brakes so after some research I ordered some parts and I am making my way toward a brake conversion. This will also allow me to run 21” spoke wheels. After some time on the mill with the rotary table I have the rear hubs both machined. I need to pick up a few more w...

Speedster Build

I have been collecting pictures, ideas and some parts over the last few months to build a speedster. I was able to buy a frame and axles (the front came with some cool aftermarket springs). I picked up a mini model T that has a good running 1926 motor that is already converted to 12 volt with a dist...

Re: Front Axle and Halladay Bumper

Jack, thank you for the information. I wanted to make sure I did not ruin some rare parts. I think I am going to use the Halladay bumper part for the front of my speedster. I like the little vintage tag!

Re: I ALMOST GAVE UP........,

I teach a high school tech ed class and what I have found is that many young people want to learn woodworking, welding, mechanical stuff they just have had no one to teach them. Many of the kids that are this age had dads that did not have the opportunity to learn so they can’t teach. Combine that w...

Re: Front Axle and Halladay Bumper

Missed a picture in the first try. This is the label on the frame piece attached to the spring.

Front Axle and Halladay Bumper

I picked up the front axle pictured with some other T parts. I noticed that the axle has some differences to the other T front ends that I have, the way the wishbone mounts is very different. The straight mounting bar connected to the spring has a tag on it as pictured. It is made by Halladay Bumper...

I bought some Model T parts and this was included. Measures about 16” tall. Anyone know what it is? Thanks!

Looks great. Who dropped your front axle? I am looking to have one done.
Guy out west, been a year since I bought it and cannot remember but will try to look it up. They do a lot of hot rod axles.

Found it

Re: The mini T runs

John Warren

The front wheels are trailer wheels that are reversed. They drilled four holes in the hubs and welded the lug bolts to the back of the hub plate. The rear wheels are actually bolted and welded to the rear hubs. The rear end is a screw drive. Maybe from a TT ?

The mini T runs

I purchased this Mini T to use the motor in a speedster project. The video link was the first start in about 10 years. https://youtu.be/8C0Yh4HttIs

Ultra rare Timber brake system?

I am thinking I may have stumbled across a very rare Timber brake system “installed” on this late model Rear end. At first I thought about removing it but it has kinda grown on me.
