I’ve had a few people tell me how reasonable this is, and it’s worth much more just in the parts. But we still have it. I’ll keep dropping the price until someone has to have it. Tell your friends! Now $1,650

1915-16 Touring Car Project For Sale

We've got this project for sale. Mostly correct 1915, and mostly complete. See the photos. Engine casting date of 11-9-1915, makes it a 1916 model, but still eligible for HCCA events. The front half of the body has the wood replaced. The rear seat is off and disassembled. Correct and solid fenders. ...

Jerry is absolutely correct- it’s a REO - single cylinder - 1908-09. It could be a 1910 but that’s unlikely since it has a Michigan prestate license number painted on the front. Michigan issued plates in 1910.

Re: McPherson Museum Model T Event

Don’t forget about the event three weeks from today. We don’t expect people to travel great distances, but if you’re local, I hope you’ll attend.

McPherson, Kansas Museum Exhibit - Model T's!

The Flatland T's have been planning an exhibit at the McPherson (KS) Museum for nearly a year. Yesterday and today it came together. We've got 10 different Model T's on display along with some appropriate scenery. It was definitely a club effort - and fun to do. I hope everyone in the area (or passi...

Central Kansas T Ride Today

The Flatland T's had a fun, socially distant ride today. We had 9 Model T's and 2 Buicks. Here are a few photos:

Re: Radiator Question

If the radiator is on the car, start it up and let it get warm. An infared thermometer will tell you if you've got hot spots and cold spots. That will typically indicate plugged up areas.

Re: Unusual Spark Plug

I would say it is unusual but not rare. There were several different brands that manufactured the same style plug. I've got a couple different types. It's a neat find, and a 'must-have' type for most any plug collector. I hope that helps.

Re: Post a photo of your antique Model T License Plate

Michael Peternell, that's a 1916 plate. Any chance the former owner thought the car was a '16? Steve Jelf, actually Kansas didn't start dating plates until 1921. All from 1913-20 were undated. Before 1913, many towns and cities issued their own plates. Here's a porcelain McPherson city plate I have ...

Re: Fords at the 1908 Vanderbilt Cup race

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. I would have presumed the owner was from New Jersey. There is a 1908 NJ plate on the front and back, and a New York pre-state plate only on the back presumably in order to drive in NY to and in the race.

Thank you to all that came to the clinic. We had a final head count of 119 people. From what I was told, that's the biggest crowd yet. I thought the presenters were great. I didn't get any photos- I hope someone will post some. We had 6 Model T's on display - 2 Montana 500 cars, 3 owned by students,...

Re: Midwinter Clinic

Sorry to everyone else for the thread drift... I remember all of those cars. I graduated in 1996. The Holsman stayed on display for many years. It was determined to be far less original than thought so we restored it. We still have it. The Maxwell resides in a collection about 25 miles away. I drove...

Wayfarer- it has changed tremendously. We'd be glad to have you come back anytime. We are in the middle of restoring a 1953 Mercedes-Benz 300S Cabriolet. Our goal is to show it, as a completely student-restored car, at Pebble Beach in 2023. It's always amazing to me to see where our graduates end up...

I'd be interested to know more about the history of this plate. I have the mate, as shown below. I'd be interested in reuniting them if possible. Note that they were assembled in a different style. I presumed mine was assembled later issuing original components.

Re: Duct Hunt with the T

We had a great day, with 12 cars - 11 Model T's and a 1909 Buick. It's a Model T-era event for pre-1928 vehicles. Interestingly we had 5 roadster pickups - 3 1926, 1 1925, and a 1914. Here are a few photos - mostly from Verne Shirk. IMG_20191026_171535200_HDR.jpg IMG_20191026_171155248_HDR.jpg IMG_2...

Duck Hunt - Kansas T Tour - October 26

We're hosting a one-day tour in the McPherson area. We did a NY-Paris scavenger hunt type tour last year. This year it's a duck hunt - just as much fun! Attached is a flyer (I hope). Feel free to contact me for more details.

I took the conversation about touring the Flint Hills in the context of being a suitable location for our annual tour. Because of the following the tour has gained over the yea...
