Someone refresh my memory. If the front bushing in the brake drum collar isn't installed deep enough, won't that reduce end play? I'm talking about where it would sit against the radius of the main shaft.

I feel they do nothing for the ride on cars with clincher tires. The harsh ride comes from the 60 pounds of tire pressure. I do think on ballon tires it will smooth out bigger bumps.

If one coil buzzes non stop when cranking, it could be the timing gears failed. If only one works intermittently I would look at the timer. If it has a roller timer the spring could have fallen off and only grounding only when the roller is down,( gravity) .

What I do is first twist the spring to release the detent, then set the pressure plate in a drill press. Using a large socket or tube sitting on the spring, press down on socket with the drill chuck. This leaves a free hand to push out pin. You gain mechanical advantage in the rack and pinion of the...

Re: Goodbye Old Friend - Tire Report.
I just removed 2 Non Skids from the front of my 14. They had plenty of tread, but the side walls scared me. They were on the car since before 1953.I hate flats on non demountable tires.

Re: New Day Timer very advanced and walking
I acquired a car with a New Day timer that wobbled. The brush was bottomed out. There is a pin in the side of the brush that bottoms out. What I think I did was put in a different brush. You could lengthen slot for pin, or shorten brush. Probably won't take much.
