If these are the coils I'm thinking about, they are not good. They are blond in color, the secondary resistance is about 8000 ohms, versus 3000 for a Ford coil. The car i worked on had 4 of them. 2 worked, 1 was totally dead, 1 (buzzed) internally, nothing externally. Call Ron.

Here's my theory. The firing order is wrong. The model T is 1243 as are most early 4 cylinder cars. This requires the front 2 cylinders and rear 2 cylinders to suck 1 right after another. The long manifold has more fuel stored in the manifold. A better firing order would be 1324.

I don't know if this would work or not. Put in a TT cross shaft. Fab a spacer where it bolts to the frame, this would compensate for the difference in the height of the cam. In my mind it would lower the shaft between 1" and1 1/2".

Re: Grandpa's Model T
I feel a 23 is much more comfortable than a 26. I have both. If you're short it may not matter.

Re: Celebration of Brass 7/18/24???
I was at the first Celebration. Maybe 15 venders, no one with piles of parts, though mostly brass era, very little Model T. I do plan to attend this, it's right after the T tour in Cadillac.
I'd say go to see the brass cars, and all that the Gilmore has to offer. The swap is a bonus.

Re: Installing Accy Spare Tire Carrier Advice
I'd first try flipping it. I'd also add, I used one of these on a long trip. I modified it to clamp on the outside, so not to scratch nice plated rims

What I do is use a 12 point 2" socket and push in a short piece of a cotter pin to release the lock.

I hope this is the picture you want. The bendix cover is not being used, but the pedal is correct for a starter motor.

Wood Spokes. Is this the new normal
These are pictures of new spokes from a supplier. 30x3 1/2, 5/8 tenon. The largest measurement of the tenon is .030" smaller than 5/8. The bevel where the spoke sits against the hub is tapered.
