Dead coils
I have a head scratcher. 1912 with Heinze coils. On Thursday I drove the car in a FMC event in Detroit. Car ran well but seemed to hesitate on acceleration frequently. Yesterday I decided to investigate. Turned crank and #1, #2, #4 coils had very strong buzz, #3 a bit weaker. Took coils out to check...

Re: Trailer parking for OCF
The trailer parking info should come with your letter from THF in a couple of days. Trailer parking has always been offsite. It changes almost yearly, depending on what THF can arrange. I would highly recommend locks on the trailer.

Re: Alternator question
Jerry, I don't know. As you know, this was Dale McDermott's car and I don't know how he used it. I assume it must have worked because the mag was dead when I got it. I assume he had it set up to run exclusively on battery. The alternator is wired through an on/off switch and an ammeter. Jim's reply ...

Re: Alternator question
Thank you for the replies. I had been lean toward the magneto charger like Scott suggested. I already have one made up per John Regan's instructions. I was just hoping that if the alternator could be made to work, it would be a back up if the mag fails. We just drove the car 400+ miles on the Michig...

Alternator question
I have a very old Texas T Parts 12v Hitachi alternator that came on my 1915 Touring. It does not charge the battery. It has two wires leading from the rear, one from a post terminal and one from a spade terminal that appears to have a diode. Does anyone have one of these alternators? If so, I would ...

Re: 26 Coupe roof trim
Thank you for your replies. Jeff, I thought about the Benson Ford Center but they remain closed for the indefinite future. Bruce, thank you for the photos, they help a lot! I wonder if I could ask one more favor. Could you measure the length of the rain gutter on your coupe. I have two different len...

26 Coupe roof trim
I am replacing the non-original rain gutters on my '26 Coupe with a pair of originals. Right now, there is hid-em around the back of the roof from gutter to gutter. Someone told me that originally there was a curved metal strip around the back, not hid-em. Is this true? Does anyone have some close-u...

1926 Coupe package tray
Many years ago when our '26 coupe was restored, the package tray behind the seat back was not done correctly. I am now attempting to make it right but I have very little to go on. Can someone tell me how "deep" the shelf should be, for example, how far below the bottom of the rear window frame? If a...
