Re: OLD PHOTO - Politically Incorrect Model T Clown Car

Can't stand the word itself, "woke" or "wokeness". Just another example of stupidly contrived, so-called "words", whose purveyors assume that everyone has immediate knowledge of. I really don't know what the definition is, nor do I want to. Speak English instead of this silly, made-up jibberish! Wi...

Thanks. Someone closed it in with galvanized sheet metal. Can’t get a wrench on the top of the sediment bulb so will need to use a pipe wrench.

Got tired of listening to the warped manifold exhaust leak. The new manifold is scheduled for delivery today. Copper gaskets are on BO at Langs so going to try the original style with copper rings.

Never have driven through a diverging diamond but here we have 2 lane traffic circles that you can legally exit to the right from the inside lane. A lot of summer tourism drivers aren’t aware of this. I refuse to pull my trailer through these circles.

Re: Opinions

I do not consider myself a purist but do like old timey things. When I first got my T neighbors came over to look and loved the car. The spokes were black and everyone was surprised to hear they were wood. Personally I didn’t care for the painted spokes and old nickel plated caps. After stripping th...

This is my first Model T. I purchased it from a gentleman with a Model T and A shop and he suggested I use that same oil.

Re: Hot rear drum....

I had very similar scrap marks on the dust cover and drum. A member here advised a 3# hammer, that along with a block of wood set them properly. I have to agree its doubtful just that caused the heat but you never know. Hard to see in the images but linings look ok. Set the dust covers and take it f...

Saw this on one of those printed T-shirt sites. I imagine you had to have a decent amount of strength to steer the truck in the upper right.

Re: Fan hub

Dan, Can’t get enough of a grip with a crescent wrench as the end of the shaft doesn’t stick out far enough. Either have to make a wrench, jam to thin nuts on the threaded end or clamp the threaded end of the shaft in a vise, loosen the bracket, cut and replace the shaft.

Grease retaining cap fit

I understand we are working with a lot of repro stuff but does anyone make a rear axle grease retainer cap that fits ? Realized I’ve gotten to old to bull heavy objects. A couple of 2x4s and my chain come along made replacing my freshened hogshead much easier. Also purchased a decent Y.O.M. plate.

Re: Transmission and hogshead help needed

Thanks speedytinc ... The low speed connection points are my next issue. Pulling the starter would allow me enough room to weld the elongated holes but not enough to drill the bottom of clutch pedal. Will make a new 5/16 connector, weld up and grind to as close to size as possible or start with a 3/...

Re: Transmission and hogshead help needed

Dan, thank you for your reply. If I push the control shaft in and bend to match that that’s fine but if the shaft moves out the cam could miss the bolt on the other side. I believe my problem is the 3/8” end play. Just not sure if that’s considered excessive.

Transmission and hogshead help needed

72 years old and recently purchased a ‘25 roadster with no model t knowledge so please remember your are dealing with a complete novice and I will try to use correct terminology. Re: What to you, gives a Model T its charm?

Recently turned 72 and found myself with too much free time looking for a new hobby. Took a 4 hour drive to look at a Model T that was for sale. The amount of Model T knowledge I possessed would have fit in a thimble but I purchased it. For the past few months I have been tinkering, enjoying and I a...

Driving question

Sorry for this very basic question but I’ve never driven a T and just joined this club. While waiting for my very first T (‘25 Roadster) to be delivered I’m attempting to get my head around the shift sequence. Watching a few videos it appears the only item not covered is when do you put the parking ...
