Re: Matching Numbers?
Dear Original Smith, I am the owner of this car. Please forgive me for my poor language when I said, "matching numbers." I just meant to state that the engine number and casting date are both 1914. That is all. Nothing more. Nothing less. In hindsight, I shouldn't have said anything in this regard. ...

Friends, My youngest son, who was off at college, got sick in early April and was diagnosed with leukemia. It's been nearly two months since the diagnosis, although it feels like a year. This has been nothing short of a nightmare for us (and continues to be). He spent 5 weeks at a cancer specialty h...

Shout-out to Stutzman
We have such a wonderful community of knowledgable and talented folks, and I think they deserve credit and recommendations when either is due. Noah Stutzman just built new wheels for my 14. I couldn't be happier and I recommend him to others.

Re: Adjusting coil points without a tester.
You’ll be fighting a losing battle with those plastic coils. I might suggest getting a refund and getting a good set of rebuilt Ford/KW coils from one of the coil rebuilders.

Thanks Ron. FYI; these coils were brand new, so they may still be having some issues.

Re: An observation on aftermarket coils
Adam,
I agree with all except one point ... these have very little in common with the aftermarket KWs. Their construction is completely different. I think the KWs were excellent quality coils, and I would hesitate to even rate these as medium quality.

An observation on aftermarket coils
I thought this information might be of interest .... The following pictures and information relate to some of the aftermarket coils sold by at least one of the vendors. You've seen them before. They are easily identifiable. *Note; this observation was made on a brand new set that was never interfere...

Re: Model T coil tester advice: HCCT, Strobo-Spark, ECCT
Matt, Looking back at your original post ... go with option 3 (The ECCT w/ the software). Mike has already made that mouse trap! :) And, it's a damned good one. Regarding adjusting coils to current draw (HCCT) ... why have we always tried to set all four coils to the same current draw? So they all f...

Re: coil repair
Tar should be used. It wicks away moisture as it's poured in and then keeps it out - protecting the internals from corrosion. It should cover all internals. Believe it or not, some Home Depot stores sell Type III roofing asphalt in 100lb kegs. You might be able to get some in small amounts (scrap ch...
