Re: Ford’Garage Restaurant

I've been to several in Fl. Nice places to go, decent food too. The onion rings are served on an upside-down metal funnel!
I especially like the restroom sink made out a tire and the faucets are gas nozzles :D

I have ones like Dan, Cokers from the early 70's made in Australia I believe. Just started to notice sidewall cracks last year.

Re: Early Fords themed restaurant. “Ford’s Garage”

I have been to the one in Fort Myers, really neat place. V-8 engine on a stand on the sidewalk and a Model A above the bar, food pretty decent as well. I too thought the napkin holders were a great idea, as well as the the gas pump nozzle for the restroom sink! Worth the trip if you are in the vicin...

One of my favorite longtime diagnostic tricks is with flashlight in hand, in very dark time and place, hood open and engine idling. With flashlight on, find where you need to look, then turn flashlight off. Look all around the ignition wiring! When you see any flashing or running lights around the ...

OK everyone, Thank you all for your help! With the great help of another forum member that lives in the same town(thank you so much Bob), we've got spark! Re: No power from coils/no spark

OK, I get voltage right up to that terminal. I just never took the box apart before, not looking forward to it, that's why I didn't mess with it when I had it out. Do the coils just slide out once you take the contacts/terminals off? Can I test them individually once out? How do you test them? I don...

Re: No power from coils/no spark

There should be a strip along the bottom of the coil box with contacts to the bottom of each coil. The coils are held down by the lid which should cause them to make good contact with that strip. I suspect that the bolt is either not making good contact with the strip. What year is your car? As I th...

Re: No power from coils/no spark

If you changed wiring does that include on the timer? If it’s off a bit nothing will buzz. Yes, the wires are in the correct places. Did you turn the key on and try grounding each of the terminals on the coil box that the timer wires connect to? * Is the engine grounded? Yes, I got nothing. The pro...

Hello Everyone, Round two. Finally got the steering issue straightened out, was buttoning everything up today from the long firewall job to get ready for cranking her over. Glad you found the issue! I suppose since we live and work in a different era and use to our modern cars that have overall closer tolerances in their fit up we tend to think our Model T’s are the same or close to it. Not So! Years ago when I became interested in T’s it became apparent they were cru...

Can you tell if your old pitman has any marks or wear on the side that faced the control arm ? It may have been hitting or rubbing and you didn’t notice it. Also, the firewall mounting brackets are different for both the wood and metal firewall due to the thickness of each one. If yo...

Yeah, the original Pitman's key slot was in a different position, only slightly. The parts houses seem to list them for '09-'27, there are probably all made in one mold anyway. I'll make some calls to them on Monday and pick some brains. Maybe I'll just put the old one back in!

I’ve often wondered if the shorter springs could be made from a good longer spring if you didn’t have one. It could be cut to the needed shorter length and used. I’ve got pieces of springs from the remains of T trailers and thought about trying it. To me it seems like you could since the curve is a...
