Re: Rear axle inside bearing location
When the left side axle tube was sitting upright in the vice I installed the bearing into the tube. The top the bearing went down about half an inch below the thrust washers level. Tried to install the axle and it wouldn't go in very far. I then installed the bearing onto the axle shaft and held it ...

Rear axle inside bearing location
Just setting up my pinion gear on a shortened drive shaft for an auxilliary gearbox installation. What stops the rear axle inside bearing from sliding back and forth. On the left side of my car the bearing can move up to 1". On the other side it is located by the end of the carrier. In the gasket ki...

Installing Chicago auxiliary transmission
Hi
Trying to install a Chicago auxiliary transmission in my Speedster and find that it fouls the cross shaft.
Does anyone have any images of an installed transmission showing the crosshaft?

Are all the HC pistons sold by the usual outlets of the same quality? There is a great range of prices.

Camshaft flange detail
Does anyone know if the flange near the front of a T cam is part of the cam machining or is it shrunk on?
Still trying to find a suitable cam for a Rajo OHV head engine.

Re: Fitting a Model A camshaft to a Model T
Les, what was your transmission shaft that was discussed many years ago? To reduce vibration?
With regards to this current discussion I am looking to use the Model A cam with an OHV conversion head ie a Rajo BB. So spring pressures may need to be increased.

Re: Fitting a Model A camshaft to a Model T
Thanks for the photos, Les.
I think I'll go that way.
The Model A cam being thicker is not as flexible as the Model T so I can increase my valve spring pressure if needed.

Best camshaft for a Rajo OHV engine
What sort of cam grinds are being used in OHV T engines that can use the different properties that a Rajo or Fontenac head have.
I am thinking that something like a Model A grind with better carburation would improve the performance greatly.

Fitting a Model A camshaft to a Model T
Hi
I've seem lots of references of fitting a Model A camshaft to a Model T for improved performance.
Could someone explain how this is achieved. The cam bearing sizes between the two are noticeably different.

Wire wheel identification
I recently purchased a T Speedster with an 8 valve Rajo head conversion and wire wheels. Can anyone identify the brand of wheel. They are not like Hayes wheels as the rim is completely separate from the hub. The hub shown is the RHS rear with a locking device to stop the wheel undoing on the rh thre...
