In the German-speaking region, Rudolf's Oldtimershop is probably the leading supplier. I have already had contact with these people, they are very friendly and helpful. Yes, that's what I said and I'm already in the process of turning a blind bearing.

What's the best way to add new Babbitt? Should I melt it into a wire first and then add it while soldering? Or is it better to place pieces on the printing surface and then simply melt them?

I used pure nickel stick electrodes from the local tool store.

Maybe that will help.

Re: What is the condition of my engine?

Hi Thanks for your messages Thanks also to John for getting in touch. We've already phoned each other. He highly praised your work and talked about the engines he bought from you. Today I checked the valve stems and the tappets. The valve stems are 0.340" which is the largest oversize as far as I kn...

Re: What is the condition of my engine?

I found a report online about inserting cylinder liners and installing hardened valve seats https://www.modeltcentral.com/Model-T-Ford-Engine-Specifications.html. I think that matches what you wrote. According to my engine shop friend, it is common for us to use a top flanged cylinder liner as in th...

Re: What is the condition of my engine?

Thanks for the reports The crankshaft thing is an optical illusion. This is caused by the skewed connection of the crankshaft. If you look at the short, straight pieces in the picture, they are all parallel. But to be on the safe side, I laid down under the Ford for a moment. I also solved the probl...

Re: What is the condition of my engine?

Thank you for the answers. What happens when the cylinder walls tear? Is there water in the oil then? Is a fine crack even visible to the naked eye? Could a fine crack in the cylinder even be closed with a sleeve? The engine probably ran like this a few decades ago and was made to run again three ye...

Re: What is the condition of my engine?

Thanks for the feedback I'm in a bit of a dilemma. Basically, I wanted to try to get the vehicle street legal before I spent the big bucks. Not that I spend a lot of money and in the end don't get a license for the vehicle here in Switzerland. I was aware that a total revision would be necessary in ...

What is the condition of my engine?

Hi I want to get a 1926 Made in Canada Touring that has been parked for a long time back on the road. I'm new to the hobby and could use some good advice from experienced T people. The previous owner had the Ford done at a workshop three years ago. Among other things, they worked on the valve seats,...

Thanks for all the cartwheels. Yes, I will of course leave the original Bremen as they are. Questions about rocky mountain brakes

Hello T friends Yesterday I received a set of used Rocky Mountains Bremen for my 1926 Touring. Unfortunately, not everything is complete. Hi Can anybody help me further? I would have the opportunity to buy a complete set with Steward speedometer and drive. Re: wishbone ball dimension

Hello, everyone Interesting post. I have the exact same problem on my 1926 Touring. The ball is 1.18" (30mm) but is nice and evenly round. The ball cup is badly chipped and needs to be welded on and machined. Would it make sense to leave the ball as is and machine the ball sockets to 1.18"? greeting...

Re: 1926 muffler not complete

Yes, a lot can happen in almost 100 years. Allan must have misunderstood my question. I'm wondering if that's a US muffler with a deflector added? Was there an end cover with an opening at the bottom? From what I've seen so far, these were slightly on the side. Then the deflector could not have been ...

Oh, I'm almost embarrassed by this feedback. I wasn't even aware of this rarity. I'm fairly new to the Model T scene. I had to do some tweaking on the screw. I hope this will be closed. The outer tube was rebuilt and is not very professional. I think I'll leave it with the weld seam facing up. I am ...

Front spring and shackle on Touring 1926

Hi I'm in the process of making my Touring 1926 made in Canada drivable again. Looking at the front spring and the shackle made me skeptical. Do these shackles belong to this car? Hi

My Touring 1926 made in Canada has two green buttons on the front. I have already seen this on other Model T pictures. What are these good for?

Were they perhaps reflectors that no longer reflect?

Re: Rebuild Touring 1926 rear axle

Thanks for the feedback.

The ball cap is widened quite a bit on the back.
It would be best if I could replace these as I have now disassembled the whole driveshaft and rear axle.

But I can't find a replacement for a 1926 from any supplier. Is there really no replacement for the ball cap?
