Hi Ken. Thanks for the message. I saw that, but I'd prefer used ones, as new ones would look pretty conspicuous on my Touring.

In the German-speaking region, Rudolf's Oldtimershop is probably the leading supplier. I have already had contact with these people, they are very friendly and helpful. I also have a problem in the same place. My bullet is good but the pan is worn out. Would it be possible to fill the pan with brass solder and then finish it? Wouldn't brass be a better surface to protect the ball?

Plan for a pan alignment plate
I searched the forum but didn't find anything.
I remember once seeing a plan for the drilling of a pan plate. But I can't find anything anymore. Can someone help me?
To rebuild my Touring I have to make my own tools.

Re: Solder babbitt to the bearing shell
Yes, that's what I said and I'm already in the process of turning a blind bearing.
What's the best way to add new Babbitt? Should I melt it into a wire first and then add it while soldering? Or is it better to place pieces on the printing surface and then simply melt them?

I used pure nickel stick electrodes from the local tool store.
The standard designation is:

Maybe that will help.

Yes, the dimensions are the same as with the crankshaft. You can also see signs of wear on the block, so new bearings won't fix the problem.

Engine stored for about 70 years....
Hello T people I found a T-Motor today, and that's not something we take for granted here in Switzerland. It's sort of a surprise bag. The engine has been in dry storage during a car recycling for the last approx. 70 years. Cylinder bore, valve stems and lifters appear to be original dimensions. Let...

Hi
I would be interested in the muffler.
But I'm from Switzerland and don't know if shipping would be affordable?

Hi
No, the magneto plates did not rub. I measured the distance. it was around 0.4". With the crankshaft pushed towards the rear, it was 0.6". I don't think that would have worked well.

Hi Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I am aware of the Benedix drive. I had some free time today. So I removed the pig's head, oil pan and gear assembly to check other parts. You see some photos of my discoveries. What do you think of the condition? -The magnetic coil assembly shows damage from the past...

Hi I just dismantled the engine. I would now like to continue checking parts and the gearbox. I hope I can find some time for it in the next few days. Now one more question: Can I dismantle the gearbox cover together with the Benedix and the starter or do I have to remove it first? greetings from Sw...

Hi Thanks for your messages Thanks also to John for getting in touch. We've already phoned each other. He highly praised your work and talked about the engines he bought from you. I found a report online about inserting cylinder liners and installing hardened valve seats https://www.modeltcentral.com/Model-T-Ford-Engine-Specifications.html. I think that matches what you wrote. Re: What is the condition of my engine?
Thanks for the reports The crankshaft thing is an optical illusion. This is caused by the skewed connection of the crankshaft. If you look at the short, straight pieces in the picture, they are all parallel. But to be on the safe side, I laid down under the Ford for a moment. I also solved the probl...

Re: What is the condition of my engine?
Thank you for the answers. What happens when the cylinder walls tear? Is there water in the oil then? Is a fine crack even visible to the naked eye? Could a fine crack in the cylinder even be closed with a sleeve? The engine probably ran like this a few decades ago and was made to run again three ye...

Yes, a lot can happen in almost 100 years. Allan must have misunderstood my question. I'm wondering if that's a US muffler with a deflector added? Thanks for the feedback.
The ball cap is widened quite a bit on the back.
It would be best if I could replace these as I have now disassembled the whole driveshaft and rear axle.
But I can't find a replacement for a 1926 from any supplier. Is there really no replacement for the ball cap?
