Felt Crank seal

Any suggestions on fishing out the lower front felt seal on the crankshaft? I pulled the timing cover and the top on was worn out so I thought I would replace the bottom one if it can be done. I didn't want to start poking at it without advice from here.
Thanks
Eric

Re: New Day Timer question

Thanks everyone for the input. Norm I will cut me a thicker gasket and give that a shot. The brass plate is now removed and waiting on a replacement gasket from Langs that I can use as a pattern. Tim I have a alignment tool ready to go. I see you are a fellow Ham. KJ4FPM I am in a holding pattern at...

Re: New Day Timer question

John,
I was running an Anderson. This New Day was doing great at first. I am putting a new seal in as I realized I was still running the felt seal and brass plate.

Re: New Day Timer question

Thanks. I saw a "torque spec" on the forum here somewhere and torqued it to that. Not sure if it was correct but it didn't seem excessive. I am going double check that again.
Norm that is a great suggestion. I will take a look at the gears. Is that a difficult issue to resolve if that is the case.?

Re: Drum size

I was planning on removing the Hasslers but made the assumption that they were large drums on since it was a 26

Kingston L4 help

I have been working on my Kingston L4 today. The kit from Langs came with this felt plug. No instructions were included. I have looked through every source I can find but have not found any mention. It is showing as included in the kit photo on their website. Any ideas?

Must be a requirement of the trade! We had a guy who would come to the fire station I worked at whenever we would get a new fire truck to gold leaf and letter them with the department name. He would shuffle in..and set down next to the truck and his hand would shake like crazy as it approached the d...

Paint color question

Hello all. This is my first post to the forum. Last week I finally pulled the trigger and bought my first T. A 1926 Tudor. LOTS to learn but I am enjoying every second of it. I am trying to identify the shade of green the car is painted in but am having some difficulty in getting an exact match. I h...
