Thanks for the information. The 27 cowl I am swapping onto the 26 body has the 4th hole and I was wondering what it was for. See the black cowl pictured here as compared the the grey cowl I removed.

Thanks, that helps. My challenge is I use the wood block 26 method is how to secure the wood block in the pillar. As you can see see from the attached photo there is no easy way to do this on the body I have. Any suggestions on finding these two parts if I want to use the 27 method

I am looking for a pair of hip panel retention trim pieces for a 26/27 roadster. I have attached photos of these parts I found on the forum for reference.

Thank you all for you guidance here. I now am pretty sure that what I am missing is the hip panel retention trim from the body. I have attached two photos of these parts I found in other posts on the forum. Now I need to try to find a pair of these. Agreed?

Thanks Tom, Yes that strap was pinched between the sheet metal and the pillar when I bought the body a few years ago. I thought that was factory as it is firmly secured in there. The strap is missing from the other side. Your comment makes a lot of sense to me. I think I will fabricate two new strap...

Thanks Jack and great advice. I’m thinking of tack welding a few small tabs on to these pillars so I can attach the body wood sections with wood screws.

I found this picture on FB, am I missing sone structure here? This lip that holds the interior hip panel? Keep in mind that based on the cowl the body I have is early 26.

Thanks for your reply Hank, but unfortunately I do not. I’m building a 26 Roadster Pickup from parts and while I was fortunate to find a very solid body, the seat structure was missing from it.

I am looking to buy the front seat base assembly for a 26/27 Roadster. I know these parts were being manufactured by Howell’s Sheetmetal and sold by them and a few vendors but that appears to no longer the case. Either new old stock or original parts will work.

Thank you for your reply. I found the bed in Houston on Facebook marketplace. It think it’s either a 25 or early 26 and the front stake pocket is right up against the bulkhead. The tailgate is available as a restoration part. I have had very good luck with Facebook marketplace finding stuff so far, ...

Awesome information, thank you! Looks like the hole goes on the drivers side on the front support and the passenger side on the rear support. The wire support was for the taillight wire. I see now that these wire supports are available as restoration parts. Thanks again.

Here is what it looks like

I have been cleaning the frame of my 26 Roadster and found this stamped on the inside of both frame rails near the front. Does anyone know what it stands for?
